Decided to go to the drive thru with my mother today to deposit money. When I pulled in the First Lane let me start off by telling you no one greeted us or even said we will be right with you. Waited for at least 5-10 for a teller to help us. The women who did my transaction was extremely rude very bad customer service. When she took my deposit she rolled her eyes at us. After she finish my deposit she didn't even say have a nice day or anything eles we can help you with today . I'm glad I don't bank here. I work at a bank, for us it's always giving good customer service and assisting the customers. I understand everyone short staff but this is no reason to have an attitude or give very poor customer service. I'm trying to convince my mom to close her accounts here and go to a different bank. No one should feel disrespected and giving very poor customer service! I hope something is done with that teller today!

My mother died from Covid 19 in November of 2020. She was in an assisted living on Medicaid, My mother had under $50.00 in her Somerset Savings Checking account when she passed. I called the Bank to close the account and was told I had two options, Get a Surrogate's Certificate which costs $50.00 to close the account or wait 18 months and then the account will go dormant at which time the account would be closed and I could get the money then. So I am still waiting for the 18 month period to end but this month when the statement came in, the account was charged 6.00 for inactivity. I called the bank again and was told they will keep taking $6.00 per month until the account goes to $0.00. What a terrible thing that a bank needs to take $48.00 from a woman who passed 14 month ago. Way to go Somerset Savings Bank!!!!

Mobile banking feature is a nightmare!!!Used it, or should I say tried to use it, 3 different times and had issues with all 3.Spoke with 3 different employees and all 3 had different solutions none of which worked. Sign your check under your name, in the middle and now at the bottom. Seriously!!!So much for mobile deposit. Disappointed.

Called Manville branch number to ask a question this was answered but I was not told that I was not speaking to someone at the Manville office. Went there and guess what they’re closed so called back the very rude lady said I should’ve come to the Bound Brook office I answered if I was told I wasn’t speaking to Manville office but the Bound Brook office I would have. She said ok good bye. If the closure at the Manville office wasn’t temporary I would switch banks. No reason for someone to be so rude and unprofessional

Bank used to be reliable but their debit cards have become a joke. They constantly mark cards as stolen and deny charges from everyday purchases. I spend around 7k a month on my debit card for business needs and used to only have issues once a year or less. Within the past few months my card has been deactivated 4 times and failed to process several purchases that affect my credit rating. I don't use credit cards or even have one that's not shredded so debit is a must.
