My now-husband and I, and our families, stayed at The James Bradley Hotel for our wedding weekend. I can't say enough positive things about how GORGEOUS and well-manicured the property is. We rented out the bungalow at the back of the property and took our family and first look photos in the back courtyard (my photographer was VERY happy :) ). The bungalow itself was very spacious and our hair /makeup artists were amazed at how much natural light there was inside! The beds were also very comfortable to sleep in, and the air conditioning was FANTASTIC (I like it coldđ„¶âïž). The breakfast included was clearly made with care and so fresh- I had one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had here! Our guests stated that the rooms in the main hotel were very comfortable and cozy.
Now, I want to write a review specifically for Emily, the General Manager. She is a true professional- from day 1, she was warm and an absolute delight to work with. She answered all of my millions of questions throughout the planning process and just made me feel at ease. Emily was by far the easiest of our vendors to work with. Everything was perfect and she got every small detail right. Our guests who stayed at the hotel had nothing but amazing things to say about her and the hotel itself. THANK YOU and we will absolutely be back for our anniversary:)

Old school hotel with a contemporary chic interior. Loved the jazz playing on the front porch and nice, comfortable exterior spaces. Excellent service and a delicious breakfast. Highly recommend.

As much as we enjoyed the quiet, cozy ambience and understated décor, the walls were very thin. I could hear people upstairs using the bathroom and others walking and talking in the hallway at 2am. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Overall, it was a great experience. For the room, the only thing we didnât like was the tub. Felt it was too small.

OUTSTANDING place to stay in Bradley Beach. The hotel is cozy and wonderful and they do an awesome breakfast that is included. A quick walk to the beach and an easy walk to Main Street and plenty of restaurants, etc. They even provide beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas. Staff is super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Not your typical hotelâin the best way. It feels like a blend of a boutique bed & breakfast and a Gen Z design dream: black-and-white palette, natural woods, and thoughtful, cozy touches everywhere. The rooms are small (no desk), and front desk closes at 8pmâbut they explain everything clearly at check-in. You can tell a lot of care went into the space, from eco-friendly paint to curated local artwork. Not for everyone, but if this is your vibe, youâll absolutely love it.

From the moment me and my husband đ arrived, The James Bradley and itâs GM Emily welcomed us with open arms. The rooms are gorgeous and so comfortable, not to mention filled with furniture and decor from local artisans. We had their add on smores by the fire which was so luxurious and their hot breakfasts made to order (weekend only) were super scrumptious. We only wish it was a long weekend so we could stay one more night!

The James Bradley was a wonderfully relaxing environment. The staff was super communicative via their text message system. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is great being a block away from the beach and a 10 minute walk to nearby restaurants. Iâm looking forward to visiting again in the future.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels Iâve ever visited, flawless in every detail. I visited on a busy September weekend when moldy Manhattan hotels were charging $600 a night, yet Jamesâ single room was just $210âwithout any hidden fees. How could anyone complain?
The beauty lies in its artistic harmony. We stayed in Room 2 on the ground floor, a room with a brown theme where the lighting and colors were simply exquisiteâevery photo is Instagram-worthy. Our window looked out onto a corner of the garden, almost like gazing at a painting. As night fell and the garden lights came on, it felt like watching starlit romance. Every inch of the space showcases the designerâs aesthetic touch, something you would only expect to find for $1,600 a night in Manhattan! (And as someone who just stayed at the St. Regis for that price, I can vouch for this!) Plus, they even offer breakfast!
The bathroom is pink and perfectly coordinated. I hadnât had the chance to soak in a bath in three years, but here, I finally did. The bathtub was new and sparkling clean. Though the hotel dates back to 1904, it doesnât have the kind of decay or âcharmingly oldâ issues that you often find in Manhattan hotels. You can enjoy a bath here with peace of mind. Bath salts are also available for purchase if you want a stress-relieving soak. The lighting in the pink bathroom creates a soft brown hueâan ideal backdrop for capturing beautiful photos.
Beyond the thoughtful design of the furniture and color schemes, they also enhance the guest experience with nice touches like a refrigerator, bath towels, and even two cookies upon arrival, which made my son very happy.
If I had to list any downsides: 1) Thereâs no elevator in this old building, which might not be stroller-friendly, but I donât think itâs a big deal; 2) The staff finishes their shift at 6 PM, so any requests after that might not be accommodatedâluckily, we didnât run into any issues; 3) Some garden features, like a fire pit, might not be available; 4) The location is in a residential neighborhood, not downtown, so there arenât many restaurants or bars nearby, and the beach is more rustic, not as fine-sand as Asbury Park. But honestly, this hotel is perfect for unwinding and reflectingâits tranquility is unmatched.
If I were to rate it out of 10, Iâd give it a full 10âitâs just perfect for me.
Nearby activities: I took my son to the playground nearby , he loves it ! That s one of the best in NY-NJ, the seagulls at the ocean are aggressive, not recommended if u go with kids
Food and drinks: They only provide breakfast, and in a residential neighborhood, not downtown, so there arenât many restaurants or bars nearby, we ordered The Greek Spot from DoorDash , it s damn good as like in this hotel

THE most stylish and relaxing beach hotel you can dream up on the Jersey Shore. I stayed here on a recommendation of a friend and was delighted that I booked it. I felt recharged after my mini-cation at The James Bradley. I stayed in the James Master Suite and have to say I was impressed - from the tasteful decor to the linens, it was a real getaway. The room came fully stocked with yummy Ă -la-cart goodies. The staff was really nice and accommodating. They suggested great spots in town to eat. Donât miss the breakfast buffet - the granola was top tier. Best of all, the beach was a 2 minute walk!
