Dr. Oratio, the techs and staff are friendly, professional and caring. After testing my dog, Mort was diagnosed with diabetes. Dr. Oratio came in on her day off to give me help in administrating insulin and treatment. Dr. Oratio is the best.

I have been going to Somerset Vet Group for a few years since I moved to this area, and have been happy with their services. The doctors, office staff, and vet techs are kind, professional, and give you options instead of trying to guilt you into the most expensive options (like I've experienced at other vets around here!) I just left an appointment with Dr Oratio, and I feel I have to leave a review because her empathy and kindness for a VERY sick cat went above and beyond anything I've seen at a vet in the last 20 years! In addition to having several cats of my own, I do TNR/feeding outdoor colonies, so I've had a LOT of contact with over a dozen different veterinary offices over the last 20+ years. Dr Oratio really went out of her way to help a cat that has been through Hell, and I was pleasantly surprised because I didn't expect a vet to go so far beyond the normal medical care. If you're looking for a vet that actually cares about the animals they are treating, beyond just making money (looking at you, Red Bank!), try Somerset, ESPECIALLY Dr Oratio (again, I've been happy with the other vets as well, but Dr Oratio was nothing short of terrific!)

They care about your pets. Sometimes I feel like I am lectured a bit, but their focus is animal welfare and that is deeply appreciated. They are also fairly transparent when it comes to billing. Vet bills are vet bills, but anticipating costs and procedures before and after is a sign that they run the business well and are focused on making sure your pet is looked after every possible way.

We love Dr Horatio. She’s the best and the only doctor we see always for our Cavapoo. She’s so patient with him. And always treats him with extra special care. We love her style and appreciate her approach. Always giving us options to consider for treatment with her view on path to consider.

We were a customer for 10 years and when my dog needed a refill of prescription they wouldn’t do it because they hadn’t seen her in 11 months. It was under the year mark but would not refill it. We were leaving on a plane in 3 hours so I said fine I will bring her in to see you then but they said they had no openings. After a debate on the phone they finally filled her prescription but were not nice/professional about it. We have switched to a different veterinarian!!

I “wouldn’t” recommend calling this office for ANY pet emergency or medical concern you have, at ALL! This has to be the rudest most unprofessional vet office (or any office for that matter) I have ever spoken to! I called them last week because we are in distress (my wife and our 3 young children under 9) about putting down our sick cat of over 20 years. The woman at the front desk begins to tell me the pricing and then puts me on hold. Then hangs up! THEN, when I call back numerous, numerous times because I was hung up on for no reason, “She screens the call” and hangs up on me again twice. Then I figured well if they’re that busy I guess I’ll have to drive to the office to find out the price details we need. After I walked in, I wanted to confirm my suspicions and so I stood by while she was assisting someone on the phone and then when she was done, I “watched” her intentionally ignore my call! I asked her why she was doing this, her answer? “I don’t know sir!”. I don’t know sir? What is that? Then, you would think that the Chief veterinarian would call me after I continuously left messages and sent emails about this because that’s what a professional would do? Nope. Just the opposite. Refuses to call me back because she was privvy to the employee intentionally ignoring the call and is defending that behavior. If this is the kind of manner they run the office at, what does that tell you about their care for our pets! Sad. I’ve never seen anything like it. I would think twice. It’s a veterinarian. Once you hand money to them, they can treat however they want and you’re not getting that money back.
