Absolutely the worst experience Iâve ever had. I wouldnât recommend this place even if Jesus himself told me to plant a seed here. The braiders are not skilled or professional in their craft.
I scheduled an appointment three days in advance and arrived 10 minutes early. When I got there, they had someone they call âAuntieâ start on my hair. Come to find outâAuntie isnât even a braider, just someone they use to fill in.
Eventually, the actual braider showed up and immediately started doing jumbo box braidsâcompletely ignoring my clear request and photos showing medium-sized knotless braids. It became obvious that they didnât know what âknotlessâ even means, and definitely had no clue about sizing. I had to make them take it all out and start overâand I donât feel bad about it either. I gave clear instructions and reference images upfront.
In the end, the braids were still crooked, the middle part was off-center, and they didnât even bother to clean up the frizz. No mousse, no proper finishâjust drowned my head in oil sheen and called it a day.
Save your money. You deserve professionalism, quality, and careânone of which youâll find at this shop. Do not go here.

I agree with the previous reviews. I didn't feel like driving into Newark so I came here
1st and last.
1.changed price
2. 5 different woman working on head. I
continue to move but pulling on braided hair to untangle it but too rough.
3. The back is medium like I asked for and the front is smaller size . Trying to make the best of this situation once it loosens up I will put it in a bun.
4. LOUD not because of the music but yelling to each other across the room. I put my headphones on a listen to meditation...
5. 2 ppl came back and ask them to fix their braids.
I LOVE SUPPORTING BLK BUSINESS but this place was not for me. I'm sorry

I absolutely love love love this shop. They listen to you on how you want your hair, friendly and warm environment. I've been coming here for years. Place is always clean. I've had several different braiders braided my hair they are all professional, each one has a specialized skill. They take their time but also very fast. I have no complaints. If you don't like your hair they'll fix it your satisfaction.

I go here all the time and Helen does my hair. Always a nice job. I have short hair and I suffer from alopecia. She is caring to my scalp and my condition. My hair always last longer than anticipated. Go to Helen she is the best, she catch all lengths of hair. My daughter says she catch my soul with those fingers. This is a Five Star for me!

The stylist explained the difference in knotless and box braids. The timing was great I was in the chair for about 3 hours the entire process was good. Another stylist joined in when she was not busy the team work was awesome.

Absolutely terrible. Overcharge for mediocre work. Apparently my hair was âtoo shortâ and âtoo softâ to do quality work for knotless so she played in my head for 4 hours doing box braids. $220. First pic is what I wanted, second pic is what I got. Why did she add all that boho? Why are my knots HUGE AND UNEVEN? I argued the price for the work and she WALKED ME to the ATM to get the money out. Everybody in the shop acting confused why I had a problem with my hair, not at all helpful. Nobody offered to fix my hair, they just offered a discount for my NEXT hairstyle. Am never coming here again and I need the owner to contact me to rectify the situation. UPDATE: I went in the next morning and the braided fixed the top of my hair - exactly how I wanted it in the first place. Itâs an okay solution for now but if she couldâve done it from the get-go, I wouldâve like my hair to be done the way I wanted. Itâs still too bulky for my liking but at this point, it is what is is. Iâll just have to take my L. The braider was nice though.

My mother, sisters and I have been coming here for 8 years! Never have I had this issue before! This situation is very recent January 24th 10pm. Customer service is horrible. Talked on the phone very loudly the whole time I was getting my hair done. A lady
(Helene) Did my hair! The middle part is not in the middle at all! And she gave me the wrong number to Zelle after verifying that it was the right number. afterwards demanding that I pay or sheâll call the cops on me. Telling me I can not walk out without giving her money! After giving me the wrong phone number. âYouâre going to tell me that you sent the money to the wrong phone number do I look like a dum monkey to youâ she said to me while i was trying to resolve the issue. Worst experience ever!

Honestly, they braid fast, but itâs just to get you out of their chair. Theyâre b braiding is not neat. Theyâre also very rough with your head. I got Fulani braids, the front braided sew-in in the back I had to take it out the same day because it is unbearably tight like, how was the sew in unbearably tight?

Horrible experience. Braids literally slipping out of my head a week after having them done. Also she put so many braids in my hair looks bulky and can barely go in a ponytail. Super disappointed. Called multiple times to complain to owner with little to no help in resolving situation. Horrible parting. Horrible braiding. Will not be returning
