The representative charged me almost the double rate cause the return time was 12 noon, and i returned the car 12:11, then I asked to speak to the manager, the representative called the manager and the manager said this is your receipt and I won’t go back and forth, if you have issue call me tomorrow!

Worst Avis out there:I have been renting the cars since May, 2023:Customer You head there they will get the key and hand you the receipt. They will not even ask "How can I help you today?" or what are you here for?The cars are clean but they will give you warnings for oil check, inflated tires. Some of their odometer will be not full.Being Avis Preferred Plus I never got a class upgrade on the cars. Go for a car swap and they will ask you to come on Saturday/Monday even if the lot is full of cars.

The manager Shannon was so phenomenal at the avis in caldwell on Bloomfield. She should def get a raise because she's why I will remt there forever

The owner of this point is called Sheila. I worked there and resigned a month ago and they don't want to pay me my money for the work done, it's the last straw, I'm not asking you for gifts, just that you pay me what I owe. That's why take care of that lady, because if that's what she did to me, who knows what she does to her clients.

Really poor service both from Avis and from this particular outlet at Cladwell. The staff is uninterested, not rude, just uncaring. And this is despite our membership being a part of President's Club

By far, the WORST Avis experience I’ve ever had. When I picked up the car, they gave me a fully electric car (I did not request one) and told me it was the only car they had. I was to return the car with at least a 70% charge but was not given a charger for the car. When I brought this up to the woman helping me, she shrugged and was like “it’s like getting gas”. NO. It’s not. Not even a little bit. The car reeked of a cigarette smoke and when I asked her to note it in my paperwork, she acted like it was a complete inconvenience.I used Avis a lot for business and have a corporate benefit/“preferred” status. I have never had such a horrible experience with them. This Caldwelllocation is TRASH. Should be zero stars.

I order car Uber / Avis to rent for week but this place is not helpful I get electric car I don’t like it I trying to swap car I ask the manager to swap the car to gaz she said is not available show on my Uber apps is available I called Avis /partners the Sao is available but I called spoke with Sheila she said something wrong Uber apps I m back and forth between I get tired to deal with this but will be the last time I order car from them I don’t recommended anybody to go there

Whenever I’m in need of a rental I use Avis/budget in West Caldwell, NJ. My girl Shelia is the absolute best! She handles that office all by herself! She is fast and efficient!!! Avis/budget will continue to be my go to location!!!

Worst customer service ever. Don’t care about customers or the problems that they cause customers do to vehicle issues. Very poor customer service also sent car out with expired documents in car. Barley answer the phone. Car was filthy when I got it

AVIS reviewCaldwell, N.J.July 2023Shelia and Jean are very professional and run the operation like polite generals, I believe Shelia runs several rental stores, both Shelia and Jean may be on their way to executive status at Avis, the other gentlemen who works there, Alex, is part of an excellent team, it’s a very busy operation. I needed a car fast for business and they were able to accommodate me. Shelia will interject at times to answer all questions and concerns and Jean and Alex run the day-to-day operation. Jean is always on top of the status of the cars. They seem to work non-stop for 10 hours a day. Shelia seems to be the person to see when there are issues other than the day-to-day ops. It’s an excellent location, just make sure you pre book your car as it's so busy and NJ is a fast-moving state, you have to be on top of your toes.Tim

I was very hesitant to book a car rental here based on all the negative reviews. I even booked another car rental at a different location just in case things didn't go well here.However, my experience was great! I was able to pick up and drop off my car rental without any hassle.However, just beware - just as some reviews stated, I booked a mini van only to find it not available when I arrived to pick it up. I even called ahead the day prior to confirm the vehicle is available since I read this is a common occurrence at this location. Low and behold, it happened even when I called to confirm. The vehicle also had trash in the back seats so I'm not sure how well they clean the car prior to renting it out.However, the service was friendly. They gave me another vehicle at a higher value for the same price.Overall, 4 stars for the friendly service and ease of rental.

Jean was easy to deal with.We booked reserved the minivan, but it wasn't available when we arrived (yes, a common theme here). However, he gave us an SUV for the same contract. Some may have an issue with this as the vehicle may be too large to drive.The vehicle was really dirty when we received it. So our family spent an hour cleaning the car inside and out. The previous drivers were literally pigs, considering the car had only 5,000 plus miles on it.Returning the vehicle with a walk thru. Jean was pleasant and quick. We returned the car spic and span after cleaning it meticulously before returning it. We even had more gas in it upon returning it back to Avis (3/8 vs 6/8).Overall, the customer journey was pleasant. I will recommend this place with the following caveat:We did not like that we booked the minivan and confirmed it verbally twice the day prior. Only to be told it wasn't there when we arrived.We did not like that the vehicle was very dirty and smelled awful.Overall, we did have fun with a reliable vehicle. Prepare to clean the car yourself!Jean is a one man show, but he runs the place well as one can expect under the circumstances. He is reasonable and communicates well.

Poor customer service all around. They did not confirm on their end that all was in order before confirming to me that all was in order. They even told me the make and model that was available and ready sitting for me. I get out to the location and there's not a single car available. They also took forever to understand that I was seeking confirmation, not general information about my reservation. Just look it up or call the place (sadly their customer service is never at the location in question) to confirm... then confirm with me.To put it simply, I was lied to.Noone wants to be lied to. I will not be using Avis in the future if I can avoid it.

Wonderful experience being helped by Sheila this morning. There were customers here being difficult with her and she handled everything with grace and did not appear overwhelmed or outmatched. Give her a raise!!!
