I’ve never felt more uncomfortable. We were greeted as we walked into the store but after looking around for a minute or two we realized we’ve been stared and scrutinized since we had opened the door. We are all young girls and this is typical in beach stores due to shoplifting issues, but this experience was extreme. I couldn’t tell if he was being a creep or if it was because he thought we were going to steal, but it may very well have been both!! We were smelling different products on a rack to find the scent we wanted and one man got up from the cash register and stood literally 3 feet behind us with his arms crossed. We were comparing scents for about 5 minutes and he stood there the whole time just watching. We were all very uncomfortable and felt judged as we continued to shop. My sister ended up feeling like she had to buy something because we had been in there for a while, so she ended up buying something and getting rung up by a different guy (he was very nice and gave her a free soap sample). Overall, a very bad experience due to this one employee and we will not be coming to this store again!!!

Having found the APOE factory at the nearby Cape May County airport grounds, I was eager to check out their retail store located on Washington Mall in downtown Cape May. Note: the "mall" is outdoors, a brick paved plaza stretching along multiple blocks - a result of reclaimed former street space. I smelled the wonderful scents before I saw the store. It's on the lower level of a historic building. You access via stone steps, descending partly below the street level. Inside is a treasure trove of delightful bath and body product, mostly from APOE. There are other maker products there, such as my favorite Tokyomilk perfumes, and there are comfy fluffy bathrobes and such. Staff were wonderful. I was able to pick up an excess monthly subscription box of their products, which I was super happy about. Definitely worth the trip to downtown.

Great products! Great service! Employee was very helpful and informative. There are so many good products and I had to stop myself from buying them all! Product names were quirky and fun. Most soaps made from 75% olive oil and all natural. I definitely bought the Jersey Girl soap! Store is located lower level on pedestrian street. There is a lot of parking but all paid lots. They have 2 other locations and accept online orders. Well worth the stop!

I was so excited to try this place after traveling 2 hours to Cape May. I made sure it was one of the first places we stopped, and as soon as I walked in it smelled fantastic, it felt like such a cozy inviting place. Unfortunately, we didn’t know you couldn’t smell the products using the scooping spoons provided (the sign was in very small print, so we didn’t see it) and the owner yelled at us a bit aggressively. She bolted towards us and yelled repeatedly “don’t do that” as we were already trying to put the spoons down, causing a scene and making us feel ostracized. I told her she could have just asked us kindly and we would’ve understood, she told us we gave her heart palpitations. I wasn’t expecting to be able to break the rules or anything, but I did expect a bit of respect and kindness - especially in such a relaxing place. I think we were in the store for less than two minutes. I regret routing my trip to Cape May around this store with how we were treated.

Love this place! They have such fun scents in soaps and body sprays! I was so excited to see the location on the OC boardwalk! Definitely check the store out!

My 25 dollars sugar scrub lasted me for a YEAR!!! I love it, it works really well and my fav will always be the oatmeal sugar scrub ❤️

I've been in this shop over the years and I decided to pop in the other day. I'm glad I did! I ended up finding some very cute cards for various occasions, a small canvas bag that I plan to use for my costume jewelry when traveling, and numerous pieces of funky unique jewelry. It is certainly worth peaking in this shop as you stroll around Washington Street Mall.

We had a LOVELY experience with the two staff members we met! I wish we caught their names but one was wearing a set of pride disney ears. They helped walk us through the different products and point out which scents my fiance and I might like based off of our preferences. They were so friendly and made the experience a 10/10- some shops in Cape May we have noticed the workers can be unfriendly or ignore you if you don't "look like you belong" or are a part of the younger crowd. That certainly was not the case here- we chatted pleasantly while exploring the variety of products in the store (and they even complemented my pokemon backpack!). We are so glad we stopped in, and the next day decided to make a trip to the soap factory on recommendation to see more products.
