When I stopped participating in sports after high school I had a hard time finding a gym I enjoyed going to. My friend introduced me to Matt and the rest of the Annex team and I loved it immediately. Matt creates workouts that push me and make me excited to go back everyday. He's the best and I couldn't recommend the Annex enough!

After two years of primarily solo and virtual work outs during covid, I’d lost focus and discipline. A stressful job and children made it easy to deprioritize exercise. As a result, I was grouchy, not sleeping well, and negative because I knew I could feel and look better. Today, workouts with Matt at the Annex are a highlight of my week. I am stronger than I’ve been in years, I have a constructive outlet for stress, and I feel privileged to have joined an incredible fitness community – one that holds me accountable for showing up and working hard. The Annex is all substance, no frills, and delivers real results with a welcome side of lots of laughs.

Matt P. and the Annex team are unmatched! I’ve been training with Matt since I moved into the area a couple of years ago. Gyms can be intimidating at times, especially when you’re just getting back on the wagon; but everyone, staff and clients alike are super welcoming and encouraging. Matt is a very knowledgeable coach with a LOT of patience which I appreciate. He personalizes your training program to meet your goals, will guide you along throughout your session and will make adjustments when necessary - all while making sure you get your daily dose of laughter. Highly recommend!

I've been working out at The Annex for the past two years and I couldn't be happier! My husband and I were looking for a new gym and we knew as soon as we met Matt that we had found our place. All of the trainers at The Annex adjust anything to what you can do and what feels better for you and never make you feel bad about it. I've become stronger and look forward to starting my days there. I highly recommend them.

I’ve worked with several coaches over the last ten years at the Annex. All have earned five stars many times over. Their student athlete programs helped improve my performance as a collegiate runner and tennis player. Years after college, coach Matt is helping me maintain my fitness and achieve new goals. Highly recommend for all ages and fitness levels.

I've been working out with Matt for just about a year now. He may be the best trainer I've ever worked with. First, he has adapted to any (all) of my various injuries and issues, even those that crop up unexpectedly, doing so in a way that my strength and capabilities continue to increase. His reservoir of exercise techniques is amazing, which is what makes any adjustments so effective at my staying "on goal". Second, he is incredibly responsive. I travel weekly so a few times a month I train at some random out-of-town gym. He has the regimen on an excellent app (with his own videos of exactly how to perform the exercise). Even so, whether at 5am or 5pm, if I'm in the middle of an out-of-town workout, I can text him questions and he will get back to me immediately re: form, substitutions, and any other questions. He is truly a 24/7 trainer, always in touch with whatever my goals are, while also taking into account whatever limitations I may have on any given day, week, etc. Lastly, he's an excellent person. He's continually pushing, while at the same time continually checking. I'd recommend Matt to absolutely anyone.

I have been working with Matt for the past year and it has been great. Matt is passionate about his work and has a unique ability to understand imbalances and improve performance. The Annex facility offers an endless amount of opportunity for individuals with a lot of experience or those looking to just get started. The entire staff and members are friendly and welcoming.

Amazing facility and great personal training program. I worked with Matt Petrillo to find manageable fitness and lifestyle goals and then he programmed specific exercises and training to allow me to meet those goals in a way that felt comfortable yet challenging. The entire facility is welcoming and helpful. For first-timers or fitness pro's everyone can benefit from The Annex!

Since moving to the area I had struggled with finding a workout regimen that worked for me. I joined the Annex just a few months ago and I already feel stronger and honestly look forward to working out each day. Matt is welcoming and motivating and is always pushing you forward to meet your goals. I especially appreciate the flexibility in workout times and that I have a program that is specifically tailored to me!

If I could add more than 5 stars, I certainly would. Coming to the Annex has been a life changing experience both during my collegiate career and even afterwards. I have had the opportunity to train with Mickey as an athlete and now work with Matt since my career has been over.Both have done an incredible job with working with me on my own individual goals. These are guys that truly care about their clients. Each program that I have had has been designed strictly for me so that I can get the most out of my experience and meet my goals that I am looking to achieve. Whether that be strength goals, dietary goals, or even life goals. Everyone here truly wants the best for you in all aspects. I've been fortunate enough to develop relationships with Mickey, Matt and others that extend outside of the gym settings as well.There is a culture about this place that has been established since the beginning when it comes to hard work and producing results that you want. It makes me want to get out of bed at 5 AM so I can get after it in the gym and sometimes I even beat my alarm because I'm that excited to get there. Coming here gives me that extra push and motivation.You definitely will be pushed, but in an encouraging and motivational way that you will absolutely appreciate in the long run. You'll be shocked at how much weight you're actually able to move, the way you look and the results that are produced whether you're in or out of your athletic career.These guys know what they're talking about and truly are the best of the best in the area. You will be welcomed in with open arms to this Annex family by the staff and the people within. It is absolutely worth the time and investment when it comes to a training facility. Ball don't lie.

I can't put into words how happy I am that I came across Matt(my personal trainer) and the Annex team, but let me try. I live in Texas and have never had a structured gym routine and someone that can hold me accountable. Matt programs daily workouts, with step by step instructions on intensity, time between sets, and repetitions and weight. When I get to the gym I don't need to think about what muscle group or whatever I want to workout, it is all mapped out for me in the app they use. Also I have changed programs a number of times, sometimes heavy cardio(slimming down for the summer) and sometimes its bulking season(you know ;)). Furthermore, I have moved twice while using Matt and changed gyms even times more than that. He can always work with whatever equipment is available to you. I actually started with at home bodyweight exercises to build up the confidence to go to the gym(I know embarrassing). All that being said Matt is an incredible trainer and you can tell he is really passionate about it. What's more to ask for in someone.

The Annex is by far the best gym I have ever been to. Before joining the Annex, I rarely lifted heavy weights at the gym due to lack of confidence in technique/form and an intimidating environment.Since I started personal training with Matt, I have gained the gym confidence I needed. He is a knowledgable, skilled trainer who helps critic my form so that I get the best results possible for my training goals. He takes time to understand my goals and develop a training program tailored specifically to me. He pushes his clients when he knows they can increase in weight or get those final reps done. The confidence he has in his clients allows them to believe in themselves and sparks them to push themselves.The training programs are always fun and exciting, making it something I look forward to everyday. The atmosphere at the Annex is uplifting and motivational. The facility is spacious, clean, and somewhere you can feel comfortable no mater how experienced you are.I cannot emphasize what a great experience going to the Annex is (especially training with Matt Petrillo) and would suggest it to anybody!

I LOVE the Annex. Everything about it is great and Mickey does an amazing job running the place. I'd been going to the Annex for a few years to train for hockey, but after stopping to go to college I had a hard time getting into a routine again. Matt put me back on track and training with him is the highlight of my day!! Absolutely work with him if you get the chance. You won't regret it. I will literally train with him at the Annex for the rest of my life. Best place EVER

Playing sports my whole life, working out always came easy to me. After graduating college, I tried just about everything to get the workout bug back with temporary success. Years later I found the Annex and trainer Matt who have helped me get back into the groove.Everyone at the Annex, trainers and members, are so welcoming and kind. The facility is very clean and has everything you need in a gym. Trainer Matt is extremely knowledgable, listens to each client’s unique needs and will answer all of your questions. He knows when to push you to reach higher for your goals and when to adjust something due to a limitation. Matt only wants the best results for all of his clients.In the past six months, I’ve seen amazing progress mentally and physically… I’ve even gained 2lbs of muscle! There’s not one day that I wake up and think about not showing up to the Annex.I can’t thank the Annex and Matt enough for helping me find my passion for working out again. So, stop reading this review and go call the Annex today (ask for trainer Matt)!
