Very poor service. I showed up a few minutes before close and the ladies at the counter were very rude and unhelpful. Extremely lazy and unhelpful. They refused to help and said they were closing.

This post office should receive negative or zero stars. Another gem of lousy service from Chatham post office. In my view the entire staff there should be fired. Mailed a priority package on Thursday April6, was informed it should reach destination- within NJ, 30 miles distance, next day am. Checked today and the package is still at their distribution center. In between the package came back twice to Chatham for no explainable reason.

DO NOT GO to this post office for passport renewal. I see so many reviews here regarding the same matter, so it's consistent.In my case, it was a male agent. I was preparing the passport forms and the next group came 15 min early. The agent took them without even asking to us (our forms were ready at that time). We felt weird but didn't do much as I was ok waiting for that group, expecting the agent would take care us after the group. The group finished about 15 min early as they started about 15 min early, so I went to the agent to reclaim the 15 min that I lost. He said that he had to take another group (again 15 min early). I told him that he took away our 15 min appointment time but he said that he started on time for the prior group which was a total LIE as I was closely watching the time as I was filling the form and I even ask the prior group about their appointment time and they said they were at 11:45 and came early.I felt very discriminated

I tried to renew my daughter's passport at this location on 7/15/22. When I tried to explain my temporary NJ address on my NY driver's license, the USPS clerk, "Candice" went ballistic and started calling me "hostile" and "disgusting" in front of my 10 year old daughter who was absolutely distressed.Life-long public servant and a Harvard graduate student...SHAME ON YOU CANDICE!HOPE YOUR KIDS HEAR THE SAME!

There is a woman with braid who is high unprofessional and unkind. I asked for help and she gave excessive attitude and was constantly on her phone. I would either try and see if there’s someone else you can work with because she will not help you. I highly urge the postal office to take action to work with her or possible find someone else who might be more willing to help.

We renewed a passport for my daughter and made a new one for my son across two appointments. The staff at this post office was absolutely amazing. We were late once and forgot a document once and both times they helped us work through our issues and found time to squeeze us in between other appointments. Of course we had to wait for a gap between customers but that’s totally understandable. The other customers being helped for packages and stamps etc also seemed pretty content with their experience.I wish we lived in Chatham (we are over in the next town) so I could use this post office more often:)

I read the reviews of other people. This post office deserves 0 star. two things can be repeatedly confirmed, there is a young black lady with braids who is very rude, she is very skillful at insulting customer, this fact has been personally confirmed. NEVER try to make a passport appointment at this location, they will cancel your appointment at the last minute with no notice. If you unfortunately went to your canceled appointment, this young black lady will insult you over there and then force you to enjoy your day

DO NOT even go to this post office for passport renewal. My appointment was cancelled and rescheduled 3 times. Every time, the lady will call you like last min and say something wrong with the system, covid understaff, or photo machine is broken and ask you to just reschedule. I spoke to her that we are taking time off our job because you need both parents to be there for my child passport renewal. In the most recent one, she literally called me at 3:00pm when my appointment is 3:45pm to inform me that the photo service is down. Repeatedly she refuses to help out even I ask her that I need a little more time. When I ask her that I want to speak to her supervisor, she refuses to do so and start saying she doesn't work in this office and just helping out, etc and taking no accountability. She could have called me the day or earlier that morning, instead she decided to let us know right before an appointment, which makes it almost impossible to make it happen. If they can't keep up, why don't they just stop offering the service all together. They have just wasted a month of my time and I can't even renew the passport for my daughter.

The young lady with long braids is very rude and disrespectful, she can’t speak without raising her voice and lecturing. I have been living in Chatham more than 30 years, the staff working there were very nice and professional until few years ago. I will not go back there until they make changes

Okay, I’ll be the one to do it:This post office has a HUGE PROBLEM. On the door it says “Self Service” and posts hours (see pic). But there is NO SELF SERVICE! They either need to return the self service machines (they placed some plants in place of machines- ha-ha, very funny) or they need to update the info on the door.And for fun, the drop box is IN BACK of the store, tucked away in an alley, not in front on Main St. (See pic)

The single worst most unprofessional post office I have ever come across. The postmaster is a horrible, nasty, terrible women. She curses at customers who dare question her despite repeated mail issues. Refuses to ever take responsibility. Never met an angrier, crazier individual. She has to have something deeply wrong with her. As for the regular mail, don't expect it to come, it will come when they feel like it. And don't ever trust the tracking, they just mark everything as delivered no matter when they actually deliver it. There are many investigations currently going on about this post office. Take your mail elsewhere! Cancel your PO Box with them if you have one. Get one in one of the 3 other post offices in the area, they are all more helpful! Give them zero business. Call/email and file complaints. It's the only way anything will change. Chatham residents can't take this anymore nor should they.

I have never dealt with such an inconsistent Post Office. I have lived in Chatham for over one year and I continue to get mail left on our front steps which sometimes get wet, instead of inside our locked door in the mailbox where it is supposed to be placed. It depends on the day if the mail carrier decides to place it in the mailbox or not. Also, pieces of important mail have not been delivered consistently which is very frustrating. When I call the post office, they do not help whatsoever. Can't wait to move out of the town in a few months and never have to deal with this post office again. The worst service!!!
