My previous tax accountant (from the past 15 years) was nearing retirement and trying to offload his clients one-by-one. Michelle, at Barger, has been a personal friend since our kids have been involved in sports together for the past 5 or 6 years and I figured I would ask if she was willing to take on my complicated return. I had no expectations, so I was shocked that my softball and swim practice buddy was a tax whiz! Without her realizing that I was picking her brain to verify her competence (sorry, Michelle!) I would throw some unique and confusing tax-related questions her way periodically, and every time she would come back with brilliantly thought out answers with the detailed technical explanations and rationale that justified everything she was suggesting. I've saved hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars in tax liability due to her advice and input on some of my own financial decisions. And on top of that, she has flawlessly executed my Federal and State returns for the past two years. She even found a few corrections to previous returns from my old accountant and made the appropriate corrections to those returns! I'm beyond thrilled and I cannot say enough good things about her and the professional website/portal and secure infrastructure implemented by Barger so that I can securely and efficiently communicate, upload, download, pay for, and sign my returns. This is truly a great company and my friend, Michelle, is the best I've worked with - she's just not allowed to retire for the next 40 years because I don't want to try to find someone else comparable! :)

Rob and his team are not only thorough, friendly and knowledgable, but they also excel in efficiency and customer service. I’ve never had a bad experience and Rob has always been there to answer all of our questions, in a way we understand. I met him in January 2022 and have been with him ever since!

I needed a quick consultation for my complex tax situation to understand what was going on. I was able to quickly schedule a time with Rob and did not wait long for a consult. Rob was extremely friendly and also extremely knowledgeable. He was able to break down complex topics in and way that was simple to understand and provide great advice. At the end of it all, Rob stated that I didn't need to pay for the consultation. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, well prepared tax consultant, Barger Tax & Accounting is a great place to go.
