Made a stop here today, it's an ample size Shop Rite compared to other locations, I like how they arrange the flowers in the Florist area, and the bakery section, not too crowded though so it was nice..

Shelving sucks here. You have to pretty much lay on the floor to get anything off the bottom Shelving

I would give Chester SR five stars but the order ahead deli service is NEVER done on time. Even when it’s only a few items. Defeats the purpose of order ahead when l still have to stand around waiting beyond my promised time slot for 30+ mins.

I used to go here all the time the bathrooms were kept very clean up until about 2 weeks ago now it's filthy. Even the aisles look all messy spills everywhere. My husband said the same thing. I've started to shop elsewhere now.

Id give the self-checkout system a “0 star” rating if available. As a frequent shopper at ShopRite, I’ve had my fair share of experiences with their self-checkout system. While it has some advantages, there are several drawbacks that need addressing.
Pros:
Speed: When the self-checkout lanes are working smoothly (rarely the case), they can be faster than waiting in line at a manned checkout.
Privacy: If you prefer minimal interaction with store employees, self-checkout provides a level of privacy.
Cons:
Cumbersome Interface: The self-checkout screens often feel clunky and unintuitive. Scanning items, bagging, and navigating through prompts can be frustrating.
Constant Software Errors: It’s disheartening to encounter frequent software glitches. Items not scanning, unexpected errors, and frozen screens disrupt the checkout process.
Lack of Assistance: Unlike manned checkouts, there’s no friendly cashier to immediately assist when things go awry. Customers are left troubleshooting on their own or during busy times left frustrated, waiting for cashier assistance to unlock the frozen screen.
Reduced Employment Opportunities: The shift toward self-checkout means fewer jobs for local cashiers. While automation is inevitable, it’s essential to balance efficiency with employment.
Suggestions for Improvement:
Better User Experience: Invest in user-friendly interfaces and intuitive design. Simplify the steps for scanning, bagging, and payment.
Improved Maintenance: Regularly maintain and update the self-checkout machines to minimize software errors.
Hybrid Approach: Consider a mix of self-checkout and more manned lanes than currently typically open. This way, customers have viable options without long waits at manned lanes, and local employment opportunities remain intact.
In conclusion, ShopRite’s self-checkout system has potential, but it needs refinement. Let’s aim for a seamless experience that benefits both shoppers and the community. ???
Note: This review reflects my personal experience and opinions. Your mileage may vary.

One of the most confusing shoprites I have ever been too. So many random aisles compared to others. I'll stick with Flanders shoprite.

Self check out is a joke. They hide their reusable bags so you have to wait for an attendant to stop talking to their fellow workers to get you one. Then, if you have coupons you have wait again for someone to come over and watch you scan the coupons. They are the only Shoprite in the area that still has a scale in the bagging area so that is constantly wrong and once again you have to wait for someone to come over and enter yet another code. It's bad enough that their prices are higher than any other Shoprite in the area, I will not shop somewhere that treats their customers like criminals. Absolutely unacceptable.
