Koenig Group screwed up my 2023 Taxes and resulted in an overpayment of $2,200.00
Which I now have to back and recuperate that loss. What is worst than that, is the lack of communication as I emailed their office three times in recent weeks and I did not hear back from them until after my fourth email which I informed them that their services were no longer needed. To pour more salt in the wound, they are billing me $200 for signing an engagement letter.
Koenig Group cannot be trusted because without open communication there can be no trust.

I just got my money back that I overpaid in April 2024 because Koenig Group messed up. They failed to allocate my income on a IT 203 form. I wonder if Koenig will now admit their mistake from last year?

My experience with the Koenig Group has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. They prepared taxes for myself and multiple family members, and over the past two years, we’ve dealt with unresponsiveness, errors, and a total lack of accountability. We were blindsided with an estimated payment notice the evening Good Friday with no options or explanation, and two years later received an IRS notice for unpaid taxes. A new accountant reviewed our 2022 returns and found multiple errors. When I tried to address this with their representative, I had to argue just to get them to acknowledge a mistake. Despite multiple requests to speak with a manager or partner, I was consistently ignored. After finally receiving the updated IRS letter and sending it to them, I was told to wait until after tax day—fair enough—but when I followed up, my emails bounced back. Another staff member forwarded my concern to management, and again, no response. I even stopped in personally, and while the receptionist was kind and professional, I was still never contacted by a partner or manager. In the end, I went back to my new accountant who uncovered even more issues. We were always told our taxes were simple—W2 employees and a disabled father—yet we paid roughly $400 each for CPA-level support that we absolutely did not receive when it mattered. We left after the 2022 tax year, and it’s now costing us money to fix their mistakes—but at this point, we’d rather pay more for good service than go through that again.

I rarely write reviews, but avoid this firm at all costs. They send bills for work they did not complete and then threaten to send you to collections if you don't pay.

I had an unfortunate experience with Koenig Group, LLC regarding the handling of my 2022 tax returns. Initially, I agreed to a total payment of $1,400 for the preparation of both my business and personal tax returns. However, months after my business with them had concluded, I was unexpectedly invoiced an additional $675 for my personal tax return.
Despite my repeated requests, Koenig Group has been unable to provide any documentation showing that I was notified of or agreed to this charge. They also acknowledged in email correspondence that I was not given prior notice of the additional fee, yet they escalated the matter to collections without addressing my concerns. Additionally, the pricing for this fee was inconsistent—at one point reduced to $375 before being reverted back to $675—adding confusion to the entire process.
The lack of clear communication and the subsequent escalation of the issue without proof has been frustrating. I would recommend that anyone considering working with Koenig Group ensure all fees and charges are explicitly documented before proceeding.

I rarely ever post a review but I feel as if this one is very personal and so deserving. I worked with the Koenig group and dealt personally with the owner, James. They were beyond supportive, attentive and so personable. They explained all of their services and in great detail. They took the time to be patient and informative at all times. They were always available when I had a question or concern in regards to my small business. If you own your business I HIGHLY recommend using them.They were professional, organized and so kind! I have to say working with them was sincerely am amazing experience!!

Great service and responsiveness from knowledgeable team of professionals! They handle many aspects of accounting and reporting. For me it's two personal and two estate returns with tax consulting on all and planning for upcoming taxes. As of this review I've used them for seven years beginning in 2014.

We were referred to Bob Russo by a friend, but, unfortunately, he passed us on to Joe Pannullo, his partner at the firm. Well, after 6 months with Joe, and by the way we never have received an e-mail or a call from him ever during this time, we asked for some basic information, a revenue report, a month ago from his team. Did not received it so far, so we complained in the hope to be heard. This time Joe wrote us an email, and arrogant, unprofessional, and unhelpful one. We will not receive the information, this much is clear, and I am looking for a new accountant now. Terrible service, avoid if you can.

I’ve been with Koenig Russo since 2006 And I would not consider using another Firm to handle my business ,personal tax returns or Financial planning I have referred several friends, Family, and acquaintances to Koenig and they have all had positive experiences. They are the real deal: professional, personal, current and diligent. Not only are they a great resource for bookkeeping but also for investment ,retirement planning, transitioning - With their guidance my core business has grown I have started other business ventures and have benefited financially and personally -It’s personal with them and I appreciate that.

I've been using The Koenig Group for my accounting needs since 2005. They helped me with the purchase of the family business, take care of my personal and business accounting and, take care of my adult children's accounting. They have also been instrumental with regard to saving for college, and retirement planning. I rarely need anything special from their office, but when we do need something, I get near instant results. For example this afternoon I needed a document that I could not locate (I misplaced it), but I was hopeful that Koenig had it on file. In less than five minutes after I requested the document I had a copy emailed to me. It doesn't get any better than that!
