I came to this carvel to pick up a custom made ice cream cake. carvel in Clifton is one of the locations that still does custom orders online . It was quick and easy when I came to pick up the ice cream cake . I ordered a small sheet cake .

This is the 3rd time we order medium milkshakes via Doordash and got smalls instead. I called this location to complain and APPARENTLY management changed the sizes. So a MEDIUM milkshake is now 12oz…. How does that even make sense? $9 for a 12oz milkshake. Literal robbery.

No big complaints. Got a small vanilla/chocolate swirl. The cone was bigger than a small, I think. Worker was pleasant, especially after I paid and left a decent tip. Ice cream seemed airy. I would be very happy to have a Carvel nearby in California. Of course I would go back if I were in the area.

This Carvel, found in the Athenia section of Clifton, is one very nice store. It is a typical, standard type Carvel, with all the typical amenities, but what stands out about it, is their service. Even when the line is almost out the door, the staff keeps everything going at a smooth pace, turning what potentially could be an interminable wait into a quick, and surprisingly pleasant experience. This is true even on the big bargain day of Wednesday, when lines can be extra long. Bravo to the young ladies here.

Be careful when ordering. They tend to mess up your order when picked up and delivered . My order was two items and one was missing . It was not a complicated order , simple two items order… two items go in bag .Just read other reviews and this seems to be a normal for them . Next time I’ll order from Rita they don't mess up my orders.
