They locked my account (no checks---no debit card---no valid reason) without notifying me or giving me a chance to explain. The account had more than $16,000 in it at the time. Then when I tried ti call, they don't answer the phone (they provide a phone number which goes unaswered). It was difficult to talk to a live person, much less to recover MY OWN MONEY.

They offered me a promotion to open a account . I never received the bonus. i Called to get the bonus I was entitled to and I was giving a run around , put on hold and transferred. I still have not received the money. I've been scammed at this point.

If you schedule an appt regardless of what time it is be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes after your appointment. 3 employees there but they were too busy chatting with one another to assist.

I've been trying to open an account for the last three weeks. And their automated system is horrible and calling their branch is not possible because they'll bump you to the system that is horrible they just don't answer. finally they bumped me to the retirement dept. I explain to the retirement dept That I was trying to open a $50,000 checking account from an invitation I received from Citibank that would pay $700 if you kept the money in for six months. He said hold on I'll get you to the correct person. What??????? I was put on hold for 3 minutes then the call was dropped. Don't use this bank services are horrible I gave it one star because they didn't have zero or else they would've been rated zero.

I would never use Citibank again. I opened 2 accounts and they sent me a letter closing accounts with no explanation and locked me out for 1 1/2 weeks. Wow without letting me take money out. Went to branch twice and was told to call number. That number said go into branch. I was blown off for over a week being told there's nothing anyone can do. I wasn't even allowed to close it. This is the worst customer service ever especially during a pandemic to not allow a person to access any of their money or close it for over 2 weeks now. Never use Citibank again. They had no problem taking my money but wouldn't let me have any of it. Never had an issue with any bank in my life. It's funny they offer an incentive to open then lock your account. I understand they can close an account at any time even if the reason isn't legitimate because their people aren't trained however to freeze money for up to 30 days and have me try to call every day to get my own money out it's not even legal

I would not even give one star if this was an option. The worst bank I have ever dealt with and I see that this is in line with other reviews. They messed up my citi priority account setting. They persuaded me to open this account with the money that I wired. I just planned to take all money and invest with my M&T bank, but they talked me in to open this account and to keep my money for 3 months and get a promotional rate 2.15% . I did it. When I came back in July to close the account there was NO 2.15% interest accumulated. They put the dispute and promised that it will be resolved in one week. Nothing was done. I was there already 5 times. Whenever I come there ( nobody never answering the phone) they treat me like it is not there problem and I should not bother them. People there are very rude, careless, specifically, Maryann (branch manager) is useless, careless and does not want to be involved in any issues. However they were very friendly when they persuaded me to open the account...I am disgusted with this branch. Now I was referred to Michelle Montgomery, senior vise president for NJ and NY area to help with this case, will see what is going to happen, but I am not going to let it go. This branch in Clifton is horrible, I can not believe this is Citi bank! I just want this case to be resolved and I will not see this people again. If you have other options go somewhere else.

I've tried atleast 12 times to call these guys and they refuse to answer their phone. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Their call center never transfers you to a live person. Worst bank of all time

I drove a half an hour to the Citibank in Clifton with the intention of opening a new account. The parking is terrible. In fact, there was a line backed up onto Rt 3 waiting to even turn into the parking lot. This is very dangerous because traffic on Rt 3 is very fast and you really should not be stopped on the shoulder there. After a 5 minute wait, I was able to turn into the parking lot. It took another 15 minutes of circleing to find a parking spot. When I entered Citibank, it was complete chaos. No one was sitting at the check-in table. I asked a person behind a desk where I could open a new account. He told me to wait on the chairs for one of the bankers. I asked him, if i needed a number and he replied no. There was one group of Indians ahead of me and no one else after me. After the first Indian people were helped, I was next in line. A short time after, another group of Indians were after me. When it was finally my turn, an old, bald, Indian banker emerged and asked if I needed help. I replied yes. He then notices the group of Indians behind me and said, oh let me help them first. I advised him that I was here before them. He ignored me, walked right past me and started helping the group of Indians who arrived after me. That was not fair since I had already been waiting 40 minutes to speak to someone. Needless to say, I did not open an account there. Apparently you have to be Indian to get good service there.

I thought that I had already used this city bank before I've been here twice before Every time everyone is just so nice at this particular branch I've never had to wait for anything The same branch that i used to open up a new savings account I also came in here two times after for a new card and to with draw a large sum of cash The people in the bank of every nice and it's usually never too crowded but it is in an area that is a shopping plaza with restaurants a Verizon pier one, chipotle, Penera random stores and a bed bath and beyond so parking might be a problem on Sundays at peak times but usually people are in and out pretty quickly But there is no drive-through

Absolutely disgusted by the teller Michelle who openly stole a wad of cash from the deposit I made today. She must be new because I haven't seen her before and this is a bank I go to regularly. Tiffany and Jeremy are always so friendly and helpful (they deserve 5 stars) but this horrific experience leads me to leaving this 1 star review for this branch. When I had said that it wasn't the correct amount, she acted like she didn't know how much I had initially. A few minutes later, I had to get Jeremy to help me and talk to her about what happened. She started opening another drawer and played it off like it got "stuck" in the machine. Completely baffled as I'm seeing all of this through the clear windows. AVOID THIS TELLER, please. Also this was a learning experience for me to count every single bill, take pictures, record, and save your deposit receipts. Looks like there's a pattern of negative reviews for this branch so maybe it's time we look for another...
