Horrible experience at Costco in Clifton NJ on February 17, 2024. Specifically went into sign up for membership services with family and the people working behind the counter at Membership Services treated us HORRIBLY. Stephanie who was helping us treated us disturbingly bad and kept making comments about us not having "common sense" due to us coming to the counter with a bill and ID to sign up instead of going online. Her next comments involved "I will not be doing membership sign up for anyone for rest of day, I will not be doing this again this is ridiculous." We had the documents needed and ready and had no issues so I don't know what was so ridiculous about it. Never again. Then the only time they care to acknowledge us is to sell us the highest membership of 120$ a year then other workers at the counter when we said "no thanks" as we were already over the horrible treatment said "nahhhh that's crazy." I would have gladly signed up for the highest membership but with the way they treated us from beginning to end we should've have walked out with no membership at all. Definitely will never be coming to this location again customer service in this place is the worst I have ever experienced.

Extremely crowded. There is no scan and go kinda a checkout option like sams club. Some categories where sams club has good quality items this Costco store does not offer. Crates and containers are not good. I found it’s not worth $120 subscription.

Great products, as most Costco stores. Unfortunately, unfriendly staff. Don't even bother to complain on the web. The manager will divert the lousy experience by seeking "justification." After looking at other reviews here, many people complain about the staff and had terrible experiences as customers.

Lines are too long. Management can't seem to come up with a theft deterant method thy can stick to. Process is continually changing. Gets confusing.

Lady folding the clothes yelled at speak english to a group of men who were looking through the pile of pants who were not even messing up the pile. She immediately assumed by the size of the man that he was shopping for himself so she yelled from the other end of the table “NO SMALL NO SMALL” to which one of the men replied “he’s just looking” and she yelled “SPEAK ENGLISH SPEAK ENGLISH”. I understand that she must have been frustrated by how much of a mess regular shoppers leave the piles of clothes in search for their sizes but is it right to take it out on someone who just got there? Also if they wanted order then post the sizes that are available and cross out whats not available anymore. She might have been speaking out of her own interest which is to reduce her workload but not at the cost of someone’s dignity. 7:44 pm, mens clothes, 12/01/23. I reported it to customer service afterwards and they immediately took action.

I am very disappointed with this store.. today i went with my family and my dog. My dog was inside of the stroller, which is covered so definitely he can not get out and the person at the door they deny the entrance... i could understand if my dog would be walking... but really.. in a stroller almost 100 porcent covered...

Best Costco I've been to so far. Always clean and freshly stocked with high quality products. The lines are long but that's expected at such a great place to shop.

It’s the most well stocked and busy Costco (proximity to NYC) with the best staff and service. The video has latest selection for fall. I am a big fan of Kirkland everything. It’s very safe because the membership is checked at the entrance and when in doubt..Now the products are fantastic starting from opticals, electronics, home stuff, groceries and pet.. they have the biggest variety as well including Asian Chana and basmati rice. They have excellent furniture Section too we have used the computer ?️ chair, monitors from Costco and have no complaints. One thing is I notice is people add stuff in the cart then throw it all over and I see the staff putting it back.. hopefully everyone gets this message ?

Fairly busy place all the time . Plenty Parking area but sometimes it’s difficult to find a spot . They are checking the membership cards multiple time . Sometimes it’s annoying but it’s okay if they are taking precaution because honestly so many people used to take my id card and go for shopping in Costco like everyone else’s I am sure. May be they are trying to reduce it . Self check out was quick. Also they are checking each item in the cart while leaving the store and I see lot of people complaining about and saying we are not thieves. Well, if you are not , that’s good , but there are many people who get away with goods for which they don’t pay. So it’s good that they are checking the cart properly.
