“Giving this shop 5 stars. I typically do all my own work on my cars/motorcycles, and usually try to learn a new skill myself before paying someone to do work for me.
Unfortunately I had a reg suspension on 1 of my vehicles that I did not get notified from the DMV about. Got pulled over on the Palisades and police had to tow the vehicle and impound it at this shop. Everyone at the shop was friendly and easy to talk to, which is a pleasure given how many shops I've spoken to that are the complete opposite vibe. Really means a lot to me. Spent some time talking to the mechanics, and it's awesome to see a shop with people working who are passionate about building cars and know what they are talking about across a range of manufactures.
If I ever needed work done, I would not hesitate to give them a call.”

“So, after contacting me, the manager/owner of this particlar location explained what had happened to my 'non- existent ' tires. Due to a miscommunication between their online ordering/ads & local franchises the tires were never available & b/c it was a Holiday weekend, the online order was never processed & I was never informed that the tire order could not be fulfilled. I was offered a free oil change or front end alignment which I think is pretty nice & considerate of them since it wasn't the Mavis in Closter's fault that they couldn't procure the tires from their supplier. I was very pleased that they reached out to me personally to resolve my issues. I will go back to them in the near future for my automotive needs since they made a strong effort to do the right thing by their customers.
I ordered tires for my truck thru Mavis.com online b/c they were not in stock at the Closter location. Got an email confirming my size tires would be shipped to the Closter store in 3 days, so I made an appt. to have tires installed. Much to my surprise & disappointment, not only did they not have the tires but I was told they could not get the tires(they were nowhere in the system & could no longer get them from the vendor). SO, I wasted a half day of my time for absolutely nothing whereas a simple text/email or call would have sufficed. I am now going to PEP Boys who have everything I need. Thanks for nothing Mavis of Closter.......”

“My family has been going to Ray and Dennis for decades. Occasionally I'll try another mechanic for convenience purposes, but at the end of the day it's damn near impossible to find somebody better than them.They may not always be the fastest option out there (though they always do their best to accommodate) but if you want the job done RIGHT with no bs, go to Lou's. Their prices are always very reasonable, and never once have they tried to upsell or bait-and-switch me. They will also let you know which issues are more urgent than others, so that YOU can make the best choice for your situation. Good luck finding another mechanic with that level of honesty!”

“OMG. I visited the gas station, my favorite and they must've hired someone new or he's the manager...I don't know!!! My car has been sitting for six weeks and it got lots of pollen on it and I just haven't had time to clean it. This young man washed the front and back windows of my car!!! Such a gentleman. That hasn't happened in a thousand moons. Keep up the great work...we ladies love a truly chivalrous man!!!”
