The Closter Nature Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides educational and environmental programs to the public. It encompasses 136 acres of forested wetlands, meadows, ponds, and brooks. Our grounds are open dawn to dusk, 365 days a year. This includes over three miles of trails through our forest and the recreational area of Ruckman Pond.
A beautiful little place to enjoy some peace all year round, and one I've enjoyed my whole life. Thank you to Marc and family for making it what it is!

I attended an event for my nephew's boy scout event. The boys rowed from one side of the pond to the other in a canoe and other residents were fishing. I am not a outdoorsy kinda gal, so I was happy I didn't get a single bug bite but I would recommend wearing shoes that you don't mind getting a bit dirty!
