Why the staff are there for?; In order to make customers feel mistreated and disregarded?
There must be changes to their abrupt and unsupportive altitudes.

Horrible customer service. Dealt with Yeon at this location and she is very rude, unprofessional, and just a terrible demeanor. The service at this location seems to be a big issue just like others have mentioned. 1 star is too much!

**Disappointed with Customer Service at Closter Post Office – Angie**
I had a truly disappointing experience with an employee named Angie at the Closter Post Office. Due to a small typo (just *one digit*) in my address on two Etsy orders, I proactively contacted USPS with the correct information and tracking numbers before the packages arrived. I also have Informed Delivery, so I was staying on top of it.
When the first package came in, Angie kindly left me a message. I appreciated that and went to the post office in person within 10 minutes of her call. While there, I explained the situation and let her know that a second package with the same typo was also on its way. I provided all the necessary details again — the corrected address, tracking numbers, and even showed my federal ID.
However, when I went back to pick up the second package (again within 10 minutes of her call), her attitude was surprisingly hostile. She came to the counter visibly upset and said, in a stern and irritated tone: *“Next time this happens, I will send the packages back to the sender.”* I was taken aback. There was no need for that level of frustration — especially since I had already communicated everything clearly and respectfully in advance.
I simply replied, “Understood, thanks,” and left. I didn’t argue, but I left feeling humiliated and honestly quite disappointed. I understand postal workers deal with a lot, but this was a minor and fully explained error, handled quickly and with transparency on my part. For a small town post office, you’d expect a little more understanding and professionalism — especially from someone in a customer-facing role. Sadly, that wasn’t the case here.

Even 1 star is too much for this hopeless place. There are so many bad reviews about the staff attitude issues and bad behavior towards customers but nothing has changed.
There is one particular woman who is always upset and maybe sad that she still has to work but that doesn’t give her right to be rude and nasty to the post office customers. She can’t explain what tracking mail options are available and starts shouting if the customer doesn’t understand her English with a very strong accent. She seems to be there most of the time and every time she is there there is a long queue as she is very incompetent.
There seems to be no staff training protocols at Closter post office.

Great Post Office.
No complaining or leaving low ratings allowed. Just chill out, I hear there is a great kebab spot in town. Take a deep breath and go have a delicious chicken kebab platter and call it a day.

Inept. I was gone for a week and they stopped delivering mail for an over a month with no notification at the door or mailbox that my mail was being held.
They only processed when I filed an online inquiry in where my mail was. when I brought this up, they didn’t admit they were not following protocol.
I have lived in 4 states, 4 difffent towns and cities and never had any issues.

Mailed an important letter on May 28, it was never received. If I could give 0 stars I would. I will make a complaint and see what I can do next.

This post office is in a really old building, very easy to notice from the counter, door and ceiling inside. But it has all the good stuff, materials for shipping, cards, tapes, gift cards and PO boxes.
There was no line when I went for couple of drop off. Had to wait few minutes because the clerk was busy with a package in her hand. Once she was ready, she was super friendly and helpful. Had a good first time experience at this post office.

If I didn't have to deal with this post office, I wouldn't, but they're the only ones that deliver to this particular town, since the town PO only takes in mail, rather than sending it out. Had a package that was slated to arrive on April 1, and I went in after tracking on it and another package (which did arrive) had different tracking messages. The lady at the counter told me it was out for delivery, then it doesn't arrive with my other package. Come to find out that it somehow got sent all the way out to Califon, 60-ish miles away! How does that happen, when it's supposed to go out with another package to the same address?! Honestly sounds like incompetence to me.

After going everyday to this post office for 5 months, only dealing with Nina - (which I have had a great experiences with). Today I had the absolute worst experience with the supervisor. She is extremely condescending and treats the customers with absolute disrespect. She spoke to me like I was garbage on the floor and when I asked her why she responded “MAAM DO YOU KNOW UNDERSTAND WHAT IM SAYING” after trying to figure out how to get my prepaid PO Box and giving her all the requirements on the form she told me I do not meet the requirements. She stormed away without helping resolve the issue. I will never be back and they lost a very loyal customer due to the supervisor. I would recommend going to any other towns post office. I would give 0 starts if I could.

Customer service here isn't the best. In the morning, the woman didn't even direct me to the right type of box. I had to find it on my own. In the afternoon, a different woman (black) was much nicer although it cost me $28 to ship something domestically. Also, they should have large boxes here and an electronic kiosk. It felt like this place was stuck in the 90's
