It's always daunting to navigate care for your child. As a first time mom (and a typical over achiever tiger mom) trying to find the best place that will make my 6 month old the smartest and most ahead of the curb was my first requirement when I was pregnant. Of course reality hit after birth and my requirements settled into keeping my child alive when I return to work.
Our daughter is now 9 months old and absolutely loves daycare. She loves all of her teachers, her main teacher, and all of the teaching assistants that rotate her infant room. When we enter the facilities she is excited and smiley as we walk down the halls (which is a validation that she feels safe and comfortable). The school is bright, clean, colorful with art that's done by the students. (During tours of other schools we felt others were dark and not as updated to modern times). The administrative staff always welcome students and parents with greetings and acknowledgement as we enter and leave the facilities, letting us know they know exactly who we are and take note of our children as we leave.
I think what makes us very satisfied with this school is the attention in care that is given to each child. I love that all the teachers love my daughter and I see it whether it's through the watch-me-grow app or when we pick her up at the end of the day. Having that feeling of love and support is really what you want to surround your child with, which encourages emotional, physical, and intellectual development/milestones. I must say my daughter has been progressing very rapidly through her milestones and it's because we provide her with environments that facilitate welcoming and open minded learning. Having a happy and healthy child is top priority and it organically eases into building blocks for your child's growth.
My husband and I are heavy huckleberry app users, as we both work in NYC with demanding jobs and are very dependent on the end of day tadpole summaries that help us know how much our child has eaten, slept, or diapered. We rely on the logging to ensure when we pick her up that we fulfill necessary feedings that ensure sleeping through the night or any behaviors that indicate illness (of course not always the case). If there was any critique I would say the updates aren't always accurate; however, I'll call the school and they'll give me a corrected end of day recap. I also tend to not be so fussy as the teachers are caring for multiple children and it's tough for us to keep up with 1 and logging all the things. But wanted to be completely fair and provide call outs that are helpful for other people.
Aside from our own home, My husband and I are quite happy with our daughter's 2nd home aka Kiddie Academy of Colonial and would recommend to any families seeking reliable and supportive care.

THE BEST choice we made for our kids! There’s something special about this place that I can’t describe. We registered our son here back when it was being built and now our second child is here. They treat you like family and have so much love for our kids. We had previously tried two other daycares for our son and were blown away by the difference here.
The staff and administrators are so warm and friendly. They all know my daughter’s name whether they teach her or not. She has to get hugs from everyone before she leaves each day and will ask all weekend to go to school. We love that she has a really positive view of school. It’s obvious to anyone with a kid here that the kiddos and their experience come first. Everything stops for them. There are constant fun special days and things going on. We also really enjoy the events.
I wanted to also shout out the food at the school. It’s been a dream to not have to worry about packing meals. The only trouble we have had is keeping up with the kids food expectations now at home! The kids eat so well and so healthy at school that my hubby and I really can’t compete with our basic cooking! This is coming from a mom of two picky eaters that Kiddie Academy got to try and love so many new foods that are really healthy. We are so appreciative of them helping us teach our kids about trying new foods and enjoying delicious, healthy foods.
The facility is incredible. We watched it being built and signed our son up before the doors opened. We love the transparency with allowing us to view the cameras. The classrooms are beautiful and massive but they keep the class groups on the small side. Our daughter is learning and absorbing so much during the day. Right now, she’s obsessed with this eagle nest the school follows and we now follow the live feed on the weekends so she doesn’t miss seeing the baby eagles. The curriculum they run is pretty advanced but our kids have never seemed stressed or overwhelmed. Our son was way ahead of his peers when he went into first grade. This has continued to carry through for him year after year.
Some other things we like are the school hours. They are good for working parents with varied schedules. The schools safety is the best we have found anywhere. It’s honestly pretty incredible. The playgrounds are beautiful. The other families are all very nice and we’ve made some parent friends there too. We also really like that they have an indoor gym for the kids with technology!
Our family moved here not knowing anyone, not having a local family support system of friends to rely on. Picking a daycare was a scary step and we struck out twice at two other schools. Kiddie Academy of Colonia has by far been the best choice we made for our kids. We found our own support system with them. We are so happy and don’t want to think about the day our daughter graduates.

If you care for your child don’t send them here. They are severely understaffed and the management/secretary at the front automatically gives you a bad vibe. She was seemed to not care at all about any of the kids and clearly didn’t want to be there which rubbed me the wrong way. All the teachers I had met were very clearly stressed and overworked. I’ve seen a single teacher take care of 20 children at once which doesn’t sound bad but when they are all 3-6 years old, it is definitely irresponsible on the daycares management. If I can see how chaotic and stressful the situation is, but management doesn’t thats sign enough. The only saving grace are the teachers, yes they rotate way too much and the kids move classrooms just as much, but the only reason this place is afloat is because of the teachers. I definitely do not recommend taking your child here if you want an actual decent place and well-run place to leave your kid at.

Their love for children shines through in every interaction, creating an atmosphere of trust and comfort. We are very happy to have Kiddie Academy of Colonia for our daughter. Since starting in September 2022 as a 2.5 year old, we’ve watched her grow and learn so much. She’s made many friends and the staff is so kind and wonderful to her. I’m impressed with the learning agenda which incorporates play and traditional schooling and even has the pre-K class doing presentations to the class, which is great for building confidence. They also offer supplemental activities such as soccer and taekwondo, which my daughter also enjoys. My daughter loves her teacher and the other teachers and the directors and we’re thankful they’re such a positive part of her life.

Horrible experiences at this daycare with my 2 children. My youngest would come home with bite marks and bruises. Teachers and staff changed constantly and my youngest child hated going there. They put on a good act and dog and pony show to get you to sign up but fail to deliver good childcare. Please beware and check out place carefully and ask parents how long they have been there and what they like and dislike. In the 6 months my youngest was there I saw lots of staff turnover and had many issues. Glad to have my kids out of there now. It is a nice facility but is poorly run and workers are overworked and underpaid and constantly changing.

If I could give zero stars I would. The tours are inaccurate of what actually goes on. Be mindful where you send your children when paying so much money. You would expect there to be solid teachers in with children and they are always rotating. How would your kids be comfortable with that? Kids don’t get food on time and clothes and blankets gets mixed up. Favorites are played. Reports do not go out until end of day and never got pictures. They make you think everything is app based you will get updates but that does not happen. They need more help. So much potential not enough people who care

My sons who I are almost 3 years old, and 1 year old have been attending KA for two months now. My 3 year old has been home with me since he was born, and I felt like it was time for him to attend daycare to help provide him with more structure and socialization. He had been diagnosed with a developmental speech delay around 18m, and the the director assured me that the school would have not issue with this.My son is excelling, and his vocabulary has increased tremendously since starting daycare at KA. He is singing, dancing, interacting with kids his own age so much more. I couldn’t be more proud and grateful. Also, teachers are KA are so personable, and sweet. It made me feel a lot more comfortable leaving my boys with them.I couldn’t recommend this daycare enough. :)

I wanted to love this place, great location, people were nice. They have potential but lack so much basic and conmen sense of the simple things a parent wants. Here were some of my issues, one they have an application to give you updates about your baby throughout the day or at least they promote it that way. But I would get a final report of my sons day when I checked him out, or even sometimes when we were already back home with him. If it wasn't for the cameras I would absolutely not know what's going on. Secondly I enrolled my son for 3 days, I would leave him there for about 6 hours. You would think within those 6 hours there would be a steady 2 teachers with him. Uh no every time I picked him up or dropped him off it was a new face. His main teacher was always out, second teacher only worked till 3. And after or before that they had a couple of rotating people I couldn't even keep up with it, how would you expect your baby to ever get comfortable? If there is always a new face ? Third issue or just really what didn't make sense to me is why the secretary always was running around doing 10 different things, she was answering the phone, handing out the food, approving of every pictures re or whatever else for the app, which is hence why I never got anything till late, wrong pictures etc. Forth issue I would bring my son diapers, jackets, blankets, only for things to always get mixed up with other babies things. They would tell me they need diapers, when I just brought some it came to the point where I stopped bringing more then what was needed on a daily basis, jacket always got lost, blankets got mixed up. I mean I get things happen but this was on a weekly basis. They really need to hire more help and get more organized. I'm really writing this review because when I called to unenroll my son, I called and their response was "okay" didn't even care to ask if we were okay. Kinda rude right.

We love Kiddie Academy. The Core staff is phenomenal. Ms. Nicole, Ms. Krystyna, Ms. Melody and Ms. Ashley are simply the best.My son is thriving since starting & he absolutely loves to go to school. It is a pricier program compared to others in the area but you get what you pay for. The care is definitely high quality compared to others in the area. Highly Recommend if you’re looking for a school/daycare your baby can grow with until they’re school age!

Our son has been enrolled at Kiddie Academy for about 6 months now and we absolutely love it! He has thrived so much; he comes home with new vocabulary, songs, counting in Spanish and surprising us daily! Ms. Nicole is absolutely amazing and soooo compassionate! Ms. Ashley and Ms. Joanne are so professional, caring and attentive. You walk into the facility and you are acknowledged and feel welcomed at all times. I would definitely recommend it. We have a child with a disability, who requires a little extra help and staff never disappoints!

My family and I had a great experience with Kiddie academy. Modern facility so you can watch your kids on their video system for 10- 10 min intervals throughout the day. They also provide the meals and they have a large playground so essentially all of the kids can play at once. Nicole and Ashley were my son’s favorite teachers. Thank you
