I love Crate & Barrel, but I’m officially done with their online shopping experience.
They use Inland shipping, and every single time they do, I never receive my order. I always have to call customer service, and then they resend the item. My most recent order was placed on April 8th for Easter. It’s now April 19th, and not only has it still not arrived—it’s clearly not going to make it in time for Easter. The expected delivery date says April 15th, which has come and gone without any update.
This isn’t a one-off. It’s a consistent problem: Inland delivers to the wrong house, I call Crate & Barrel, and then they resend it—usually through FedEx—at which point it finally arrives within a day or two. I’ve complained multiple times about Inland, yet Crate & Barrel keeps using them for my orders.
One time, I had $1,500 worth of curtains delivered to the wrong location. Crate & Barrel replaced the order and sent it via FedEx. A week or two later, a complete stranger showed up at my house with the original package. I actually drove the extra set back to the store because that was just too much money to keep in good conscience.
It’s beyond frustrating. I’ve been dealing with these shipping issues for over two years now. At this point, if I can’t make the hour-long drive to the nearest Crate & Barrel store, I guess I’ll just have to go without—or shop at Pottery Barn or Williams-Sonoma. I like those stores too, but Crate & Barrel has always been my favorite and go to store.
And to top it all off? I just received an email from Crate & Barrel asking me to review the products that still haven't been delivered.

Ordered a glider chair and ottoman for pick up in cranbury, NJ. The order status changed to "ready for pickup" for last Thursday. Tried calling the cranbury warehouse several times over two days and could not reach anyone (to confirm process for pick up / item is really ready). Took the ride down 1+ hour to pick up the unit on Saturday, which was a waste of a day. No fork lift driver available to pull the unit down. Due to the company being unable to communicate and giving absolutely zero attention or care to the issue I cancelled the item, and urge anyone reading this to shop local if you can. Business ethics are important, even in todays times.

I was anxious to go pick up my items based on the reviews but I’m glad I went. It was a fairly easy process. Only thing I didn’t see were signs directing to the Customer Pickup area. This would be helpful.
The employee was quick with getting the items and helped to load them in my car.

Arrived there for a drop and hook and load was not ready. I arrived at 7am for a 11am to 3pm appointment!!! They let me stay in the yard till load was ready. They never bothered me or anything. Nice place to pick up or deliver.
