The store is spotless and well-organized with an impressive variety and a large selection to choose from. Whether I’m picking up a quick bottle or browsing for something new, they always have what I need. Definitely my go-to liquor store!”

And in case they don't know English, that girl must be the owner and if not, it should be because she knows a lot and serves very well. Between a purchase of $5 I came out with a receipt for $120, the girl knows about liquor.”

“i highly recommend giving this spot a visit. I went in confused and lost, but i left an enlightened man. laconia liquors got that juice. it has everything i needed to get on one and so much more. I saw whiskeys i had never seen before, wines and rums from the furthest corners of the globe, all with the convenience of being close by (and they deliver???). this is not only a community service, but a (spirit)ual one. Its run by a day 1 BX family, you couldn't support a more deserving local business.”

“this is my first visit to Gary’s. I loved the depth and breadth of their wine inventory. I really like South African wines and many wine shops either do not carry them at all, and if they do, have a very limited selection. Gary has a nice selection of South African wines as well as Italian wines, with the Italian wines featuring a lot of regions that most other wine shops do not. Kudos to Gary’s! Oh, and by the way, their wines are priced very fairly .”
“The BEST small high-end wine shop in Harlem. By far. I love the selection and I love the staff. They’re super helpful and lovely people to talk to. It’s my go to shop. They’ve got a great website and will also deliver quickly if you call. I’ve literally made friends on the subway just by seeing and connecting over our Pompette Wine bags lol this is a beautiful little neighborhood shop for wine enthusiasts but also with great knowledge if you’re just dipping your toe into the wine and spirits water. Also love when they have liquor and wine reps come in and educate on their stock.”

“The BEST neighborhood wine shop! This charming little spot has so many unique wines, plus spirits, that you just don’t get at other shops. Grab a bottle or two as a last-minute gift and take a few minutes to ask Yahaida, who is hands down the coolest small biz owner, for a recommendation to try something new. “Whenever I'm on 161st, the is the 2nd best liquor discount store. They always have unique bottles, and the prices are always good and affordable. You should stop in when you're in the neighborhood. You won't be disappointed. The service is always pleasant, and the atmosphere stays quiet unless the re's a Yankee Game, then it gets really crowded.”

“I love this place. Great selection of wine and beer with a nice combination of staples to niche (hard to find a shop that stocks Gruner Veltliner!) They have some wines from upstate NY as well- I vacation in the Finger Lakes from time to time but havent visited the wineries they offer wine from (I'd do anything to see some stuff from Lakewood Vineyards, just saying). Beers range from the basic to the craft, and there are some interesting hard seltzers on hand. There's a bit of merchandise and tchotchkes too. There's a little room to the side where they keep The Good Stuff if you're looking to go all out. Little refrigerated case near the front with cheeses and other goodies (Beecher's cheese! Swoon!) Prices are reasonable. Staff is super friendly. And the space itself is gorgeous! High lofted ceilings- I wonder what that building used to be back in the day? They have an event space too, but I haven't seen it and can't comment on it. All in all, every step of the shopping experience is delightful and I'm so happy to have a place like this right in town!”

The vibe is always welcoming and fun. The prices are fair and to be honest I mostly come here for Gershon's wine recommendations, he always hits the mark. The store would never be the same without him.”

More importantly, on two different occassions, the staff is on point on providing excellent customer service. That makes me a fan! At wine ventures, there's a special bottle waiting for you.
