They keep the angel tree program to them selves. Not once did they promote it to families in need.. one minute they made an announcement application was open the next it was full. They are not doing good business there.

It's an excellent place where you can feel in family, they love to help others and share their food with the people that need it. They love to share Bible promise's and pray for many people... I love to help in this place too.

The Salvation Army Thrift Store is stocked with 100 percent of donated goods from local community collection sites. The Store itself contributes all of its earnings to worth while programs around the world. The organization devotes billions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours each year to disaster relief, social services and other charitable causes worldwide. This Salvation Army Store plays an important role in furthering the mission of the organization. Patrons who shop at the store select through a diverse selection of slightly used clothing, shoes, second hand furniture, books, toys, and electronics at fair value prices. All of which in turn adds to more charitable dollars that can be used to help the less fortunate. *Note to local shoppers; to Me it's 5 Stars because it's a non profit organization and not necessarily that it sells 5 Star merchandise.

Good place to donate to. There are a lot of low income and homeless in the area so if you have things to donate this is one of the places I donate clothing. The clothing and other items you donate are cleaned and sold at very low prices. The money raised helps keep the doors open.

I can't speak for the sales of the Salvation Army in Dover, New Jersey. However, I wish they would make donating easier. My experience was that they acted like it was as a favor to me taking my donation of furniture to sell and gave no assistance in unloading the items. At least, they could have said please and thank you. Disappointing.

Some awesome deals here, particularly on furniture and, if you're willing to wear something someone died in, clothing. However, some of the employees are a little nuts, and a lot of people do community service there, so the quality of help you get there if you need it is a little disappointing sometimes. But if you need to furnish an apartment or something, and you are in this area, they should be your first stop.
