We were seated immediately while a world class piano player played lovely classical melodies. The restaurant was nearly full but didn't feel crowded. The bar was popular and was full. The energy level felt when walking in was positive but not overwhelming or rowdy. Suggest eating in the more formal dinning rooms if you don't want to be near the piano. We had a great meal/service with old friends. A+ for the dining and restaurant experience. Food was fresh and came out in a reasonable time. The server(s) were on point, warm, engaging, and sincere. They hustled but not in a way that was harried or pressed. The bussers kept our water glasses full and were lovely. If you are conscious of history and period architecture, the structure is impressive: built in 1811, the walls are thick stone, the large wood beams in the more formal dining rooms are impressive; the fire place made the dining room especially comfortable and accented the historic, warm tones in the room. We had the special soup (Tomato Bisque); vegetable spring rolls; and duck ravioli. Main courses: Fettuccini, Grilled Beef Tenderloin Medallions; and a Cheeseburger. For dessert, a delicious Warm Peanut Butter Brownie with vanilla ice cream.

This is one of my local go to regular rotation restaurants. You can choose the older section that is more intimate or the main room where piano is played on Friday and Saturday nights. The food is impeccable. The service is impeccable. You can't go wrong!

Hadn't been here in a while. And, considering the overall quality, I don't know why it took so long to come again. Cute atmosphere (although the piano was a little overpowering), terrific service (attentive, polite, friendly) and tasty food. We may add this to the "regular" stop list.

Appetizers, soup, and dinner were outstanding. Portions were perfect. Everything was fresh. Despite being a busy Friday night, our food came out quickly. Drinks were perfect. Staff made our party feel like family. The piano player is one of the best we've heard. We will be back with family and friends.

Our last visit for our Valentine's Day dinner. A special V-Day menu was available which included an appetizer sampler, soup/salad, a choice of entree's followed up with a desert sampler. Every course was exquisitely presented. It was a special meal in one of our most favorite restaurants. Normally, the menu would include pizza, steak sandwiches and many other light dishes. Chef Novak and his wife Theresa do a marvelous job.

I have dined here a few times and the food and service is usually very good. This time both the food and service was not very good. The $50+ dollar steak was about 20% fat. It should of not been served to customers. The steak's were served without any knives to cut them. We had to wait many minutes and request proper utensils from the server. Meanwhile both of our steaks and side dishes were cold at that point. Not likely to return.

My wife and I came here for her birthday. We started off with a glass of Pinot Project Pinot Noir for her and a glass of William Hill Cabernet Sauvignon for me. They brought out piping hot bread which was very light and airy. We chose to skip appetizers. My wife had the Tavern linguini but made with penne instead. She thoroughly enjoyed it and cleaned off her plate. I had the NY strip steak served medium. It was served on whipped potatoes with broccoli and button mushrooms. The steak had a good crust while the inside was still juicy. For dessert, we went with the peanut butter brownie and a scoop of maple walnut ice cream ( they were out of the bourbon butter pecan ice cream). The brownie was like a large, warm peanut butter cookie. The maple walnut ice cream was not overly maple (thankfully). It was very close to butter pecan. Our reservation was for 6pm. They had a piano player beginning at 6:30. We were seated in the room to the right when you walk in. It has a very rustic feel with the exposed wood beam ceiling and wood burning fireplace.

First time here. Food and service were great! I expected a different atmosphere as the menu was farm to table and nouveau. Could use a new update decor! We definitely will be back as the we had a great experience.

Guilty of False Advertising! My wife and I had dinner there last week expecting to see their winter prix fixe menu as advertised on their website (since removed). Not the case when we got there, and the hostess did not offer to honor it or even give an apology! If your advertising is inaccurate, this is no way to treat a long-term customer. Sadly, the restaurant has gone downhill over the years.
