Hello, My local petco continues to neglect and abuse their reptiles and small animals. I've spoke to corporate and to the district manager. Although I've been told they are getting them medical care and hiring a staffer to care for these animals. Six months have gone by with no such action. I went by the store today and the animals are in horrible conditions. Leopard geckos who can't open their eyes and possible yeast around their mouths. A reptile with a missing tail. I am disgusted and am trying to figure out the best way to seek care or help for these animals. They should not be permitted to sell animals.

at one point I loved this location super easy and helpful. now when you go to check out you usually need to go look for an employee. new staff won't ask for my phone number for my vital care I need to ask if its ok to apply it since they are in such a rush(even when not busy) the old staff was the reason I signed up and made it super easy each time I came now it seems to always be an issue and staff is always confused. I'm paying for pemier vital care but I don't even get to apply my benefits sometimes so frustrating with the new staff I was just assuming they were still in training but after months of this it seems to just be they don't care and want to get back to their conversation with their co workers

I stopped in to see if my dog Sugar could get her first nail trim. We just rescued her and I was so nervous! We had the MOST wonderful experience with Liz the groomer.. She was so kind and fun with Sugar!!! I will be back and back again because of Liz!!! The cashier Susan, was extremely helpful too! I came to pick up something that was out of stock when I got there...the cashier made the arrangements for it to be shipped right to my home. I just had to wait 3-4 days! Saved me an extra trip. AMAZING people at East Hanover Petco!!! THANKS

Went in to see if the groomer had time to do a nail trim on my dog, and she said we needed her vaccination records. We said that we didn’t have them but we usually go to another Petco so if there’s a system she can look them up. She said okay and that she needed to ring up another customer. We waited around, then found her organizing litter boxes. Tried to give her the benefit of the doubt (maybe she didn’t see us) and she said she would be with us in a minute. She was nowhere to be found. Eventually we decided to leave and we saw her chatting away with someone in the parking lot outside. Overall really disappointing customer service experience.

We took our dog to a local groomer today and she told us that our dog's anal glands were not even expressed as it was pretty full and her nails -- although were cut -- were still quite long and were not buffed (which I believe are add on services). It's disappointing that it is taking long for this to be resolved and quite upsetting that we paid so much for poor service, or rather supposed service. It makes me wonder how many other customers are not aware they're paying more for nothing. I hate to give a bad review, but hopefully, it helps future/current clients.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE FOR GROOMING!! I brought my 2 year old maltipoo to get a full groom service -- complete with bath, haircut, nail trim and buff, anal glands expression, the whole shabang. Only to come home and fully inspect my dog and realized her haircut looks like it was done by a 5 year old-- there were patchy areas and still had some matted spots! I contacted the headquarters to which they said they contacted the store to check on what happened-- it's been over 2 weeks and we never heard back. I paid $95 for service that was poorly done or not done at all. I took my dog to a different groomer a few days later and asked her to check if they even did any of the services. New groomer said nails were still quite long even though they were trimmed and the anal glands was still very much full, meaning PETCO never even did that service!! I have expressed my frustration and asked for a refund and never heard back. Don't even waste your money in this place, they're just taking your money and not doing the service you paid for.

Animals available are not cared for. Lots of staff standing around chatting about co-workers who should be cleaning out the tanks and cages. Very upsetting for an animal lover to see.

Liz D has been the most unprofessional groomer I’ve ever dealt with, from her presentation to the results delivered, specially for a 5 hour grooming appointment. Our dog (a well trained maltipoo who loves being groomed) was left with his hair all sheared up. Knots and Matt’s all over his ear and tail. Nails unbuffed and uncut even though we paid extra for these services, leaving a uncut nail lifted causing pain. The store cashier was shocked on how poorly our dog was groomed and tried to talk to Liz about it but she just responded with attitude. I never received a follow up from the manager since a month ago and her email just bounced back at all time.

This place is a hot mess! Poor animals are obviously not cared for...so much poop in the cages and tanks. Fish department is a disgrace...dead water plants everywhere, filthy tanks, buckets of slimy water sitting on the floor. Garbage and rolling carts/racks everywhere!

I continue to have very positive grooming experiences at this Petco. The groomer Liz is always positive, upbeat, and shows a genuine love for my dog. The grooming is always well done and very thorough and Liz takes great care making sure that my dog is comfortable, not stressed, and cared for while in her company.
