Great selection of Caribbean and African foods but the prices are ridiculous. Often untidy and not very clean but I travel from towns over to get my meats, seasonings, and sometimes produce from here. Staff are not welcoming but will speak to if if you initiate a conversation. The fish market next door is also the same owners and prices for fresh fish are also high, their fried fish is decent though.

I travel from PA to NJ just to get my ethnic foods from Tropical Sun both groceries and fish next door. Come on down and get the island experience for your west indies items.

Prices are not competitive. Food is worse than Shoprite. Less name brands than shop rite, but higher prices.

Tropical Sun supermarket in East Orange is a true gem for anyone looking for Caribbean food and products. As soon as you walk through the door, you're transported back to the islands with the incredible selection of products and groceries that you just can't find anywhere else. One of my favorite things about this supermarket is the amazing selection of island selections that they offer. From jerk seasoning and hot pepper sauce to coconut water and fresh plantains, they have everything you need to recreate your favorite island dishes at home. But it's not just the selection that makes Tropical Sun so great - it's also the quality of the products. Everything is fresh and authentic, and you can really taste the difference. It's like you're back home, enjoying the flavors and tastes that you remember from your childhood. And the staff at Tropical Sun are simply amazing. They're knowledgeable about the products and are always happy to help you find what you're looking for. They're friendly and welcoming, making you feel like you're part of the family.

The only thing I go here for is sugar or something in a can. Had too many bad experiences with the meat always spoiled and have the most outrageous smell. I WILL NEVER NEVER BUY MEAT FROM THE EVER IF ITS LAST STORE ON EARTH
