Best class and best instructor: Pilates with Liz S. Since taking Pilates with Liz I no longer need to see a chiropractor. Liz’s classes are geared toward my age & ability. I always feel stronger and energized after her classes.

I am member of this facility for many years and like the way its being managed. Mostly staff are supportive and friendly, except few at reception who don't even know how to smile and completely disengaged with the job.

Really great place to workout with friendly people and instructors. Some of the classes being offered like Pilates, Yoga ?♂️ and Piloxing are great and included in the monthly membership. Favorite classes there are the Pilates classes and Yoga classes taught by instructor Liz on Monday through Wednesday evenings as well as the Piloxing class taught on Friday nights by instructor Sara!

One thing they will not mention to you when you sign up for a membership is that the entire summer the gyms are rented out for day camps and even throughout the year the gyms are rented out 80% of the time. I would never recommend making a membership. I've been to 5 YMCA today all of them have the gyms rented out while I'm paying $65 a month and $120 registration fee. The gyms are rented out especially on weekends.

I’m not a member of this YMCA. I visited with my family around 10:30 am on Sunday to use the swimming pool with day passes. I clearly informed the receptionist that we only wanted to use the swimming pool, yet she gave us passes for the entire facility. However, upon entering the pool, another staff member informed me that my 2-year-old daughter couldn’t swim due to an ongoing class. The receptionist should have informed me about the class initially. The receptionists at this location seem very unprofessional.Be advised, the refund process is also complicated.

Horrible horrible horrible stay away , Mariam from the finance department should be fired , she is a racist against Muslims. They are only helpful towards white people the director sucks just as well, the other day she saw an African American family walk in and in front of me did a double take as if what she did was normal. Will not come back

I want to give 5 stars to the staffs in the meadowlands YMCA, particularly those around the basketball court. They take care of the cleanliness of floor and the rims very well. The floor used to be dirty after the kid’s summer camp, so it was like skating while playing basketball. Now the current staff are constantly cleaning up. One of the rim is often bent, but the staff takes care of it whenever they are available. Nice!!!

They have everything I need in the weight room, but it gets very crowded after work, and they don’t have enough of the equipment that most people want to use. They have classes that close off high use areas for hours at a time. Their open lap swim hours are terrible on every day except Sunday. Steam room is very dirty at all times and smells like mold.

Rude head of wellness Chris Gonzalez who made a disparaging comment about aging to a woman asking about a yoga class. Also men who use the F-word as noun, adjective, etc. Also just sit on equipment to talk to each other and get annoyed if you ask them if they're done so you can use it.

East Rutherford YMCA exceeded our families and guests expectations at our Princess Birthday Celebration?.The staff professionalism, friendliness, world class service and cleanliness of the place was simply above & beyond my expectations with a 5 Star ⭐️ rating. This location possess a safe, pleasant, convenient and positive environment for kids and adults of all ages!? Special recognition to Phil Stern, Associate Program Director, it’s not often that you see a Director actively involved in the logistics of an event and greets you at the front door with his employee(s). ? Kudos to Prince & Mateo for their exceptional service and professionalism that impacted everyone’s experience including the Birthday Girl!Prince & Mateo demonstrated a lot of pride on what they do, expertise and delivered “world class service” from beginning to end.As a VP/Manager for a large known company, I have trained, coached and evaluated hundreds of employees around service! Prince & Mateo possess the skills and experience necessary around delivering world class service and hosting their guests! They were simply on point and efficient!Recommendation(s):Re-evaluate the 2 hour limitation for Pool Birthday parties. Perhaps you may want to consider changing from 2 to 3 hours or providing a 30 minutes window for guest(s) to transition from the pool to changing lockers to the party room! When you have multiple kids it can be challenge to change them in a timely manner. I’m confident that Prince & Mateo can share their observations and provide valuable recommendations!

The manager Phil (not sure what his role is but he walks around like he owns the company) is ruining the gym quickly, runs the facility like a dictatorship, is extremely rude to people in the gym. Everyone I talk to at the gym has a story about him, gym has only gotten worse since he’s been here. He needs to go and corporate needs to take action because he has no idea what he’s doing at all. In just one week I’ve seen him escort someone from the gym area for wearing crocs in an extremely disrespectful manner, and heard countless other stories that pose the same narrative about him being like this. Get rid of the guy
