Absolutely unacceptable experience at Sephora, American Dream Mall.
An employee named Ashley made an openly rude facial expression at my sister simply for asking if she worked there—right in front of other customers. I witnessed it myself.
This level of disrespect and unprofessional behavior is shocking for a brand like Sephora. Publicly humiliating customers with attitude and facial expressions is disgusting and should not be tolerated. Very disappointing experience.

Came here with my bf today and we both felt like we were being watched as if we were stealing and kept getting checked on til someone offered to give us a bag for my items and I had to color match myself at first til the lady that gave me the bag I asked for help then.Then when I was getting help waiting I’ve seen multiple employees watching us and my boyfriend even said I think they think we’re stealing and we’re not but he was ready to go and I literally just needed to get my foundation an the girl that did help me did make me feel better because she kept asking if I needed anything else so I just said concealer and she asked my skin care told her my skin care helped me out overall but I just didn’t like the fact that everyone had eyes on us and assumed that.So I kept adding things to my bag because I’m there to shop..I spent 170 today but I just had better experience at other Sephoras and here wasn’t it I felt off and no one asked if I needed helped I had my boyfriend help me color match myself in the beginning and even the employee said I matched myself good (when I asked for some help).But damn at another Sephora Employee’s ask right away at least at garden state plaza they do…anyway do better and have your employees start going up to customers and not be stand offish…

I came to this Sephora location with my best friend and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When we walked in, the associate didn’t greet us at all, but she immediately greeted the people who came in right behind us. Throughout our time in the store, no one offered to assist us or check in to see if we needed help finding anything. We actually came in ready to buy, but because of how ignored we felt, we decided not to purchase anything and left.
I’ve had great experiences at other Sephora locations, but the lack of acknowledgment and service here really stood out. Hopefully the staff can improve on treating all customers equally.

I never leave a bad review but the cashier was so rude I thought about it the rest of the day… I didn’t get her name but she was probably in her 20s with straight dark hair and tan-ish skin. I went up to checkout and I said “hello how are you?” With a smile. She said “ do you have a phone number with us?” Sheesh ok but we’ll move on. “Yes I do.” She says nothing, just staring down at the counter and looking around a bit. I was wondering what she was doing and after a bit I said “are you ready for my number?” So confused. She still said NOTHING! Then she just looked at me. It took my boyfriend who was next to me to point out the card reader had the prompt up to put my number in. So I put in my number and I said to her, “ sorry my bad I thought you had to type in the number.” Of course she just looks at me like I’m stupid and says nothing at all. Then she rings up my item and hands it over saying “have a nice day.” In the most disinterested voice, not even looking at me, already looking at the next person to checkout. I don’t know what I did to deserve such terrible customer service but safe to say I won’t be coming to this location again.

I went to Sephora today because, admittedly, I'm not great at doing my own makeup. An associate, noticing my confused looks at all the different products offered help. Well, she did. Dina found not only the perfect tone of foundation, but helped me understand why my makeup doesn't look how I want it. She applied serum (my face was super dry and foundation was cracking), moisturizer, foundation, and lip gloss on my entire face to ensure that I liked the way it looked. Customer service is so important to me, and honestly, she made me feel beautiful without judgment. I HIGHLY recommend if you go into Sephora, ask for Dina. 10/10

I had the most wonderful experience at Sephora located in American Dream Mall. The sales associate Selena was very helpful and knowledgeable and had a great personality. Thank you so much for making my shopping experience wonderful

This lady was so rude. We know we can’t open the drawers but it was already opened so we just took one product. She was yelling at us not once but three times and gave us looks.

I love Sephora!! I even live close by to the one in Edgewater which is ABSOLUTELY amazing with welcoming staff. I stopped by the one in American Dream with my family and we were being followed by a particular lady. At first when my husband brought it to my attention, I disagreed with him but he couldn’t take being followed anymore he left the store with the rest of our family. I decided to stay behind and I was still being followed. This was extremely uncomfortable and I will not be returning to this location. I read the reviews and no one wonder this location has horrible reviews. I confronted the lady about her following me, making me and my family uncomfortable. She was rude! Did not even ask us if we needed help once just followed us. She should not be working at Sephora. Very unwelcoming and she clearly does not want to be there.

I’ve been to many Sephora and today was by far my best experience. I came in w my 17 year old niece who had a lot of questions about skin care and makeup and Bernie did such an awesome job!! She took great care of us, super friendly and so knowledgeable. SOMEONE GIVE HER A RAISE!!!

DISAPPOINTING
Who is the manager or district manager to this location? Who is also the one that teaches these store associates manners in customer service? I was shopping until last minute and these store employees come my way (a bunch of other customers were approached same manner) and told “we can take you to pay or we can show you the door”. I was completely taken aback since I had products in my hand and told her I was making a final decision on an item and still preceded to tell me that statement. How does Sephora think to sell if they run away their customers? Especially PAYING ONES. Also, there are ways to tell customers to check out due to closing time. Also, how are these employees finding jobs when they are so poorly trained or equipped to work with people?

Understaffed across the board — no one to help you on the floor and long lines because they only have one person at the register at all times. Poor experience all around with the color matching (the person helping me kept questioning the colors I wanted to try) and then, at check out, they added a $3 Sephora line product just so that I could get “free” samples… except she didn’t say she was adding a non-free item to my total. It just seemed dishonest and added to an already underwhelming experience.

Hannah Was amazing, my wife had an amazing time and a great personal experience. She understands customer service, she understand how to talk to a guest and make them feel special and beautiful. Noemy was great! Top Tier Experience…. She analyzed my skin & picked really great products for me. Products I actually LOVED in the store & when I got home. Money very well spent. She was very Sweet, Professional & Knowledgeable. Customer Service like that does NOT Exist anymore.

I always find myself coming back here. They have a massive selection of makeup, skincare, hair products, perfume, and so much more. There are plenty of testers, and the staff is always friendly and engaging. I always find everything I need with the help of the staff. The store is well-lit, and they even have stations where you can try on makeup and products. I also love how they change the decor with the seasons, it's such a cute touch. I'll definitely keep coming here to satisfy all my beauty needs.
