I had a custom framing job done that took almost 2 months to complete. I understand the staffing issue but the finished prod c c uct was truly sub-par. I will have to have it redone somewhere else. I have also been in weekly looking for a certain product which has not been available since. When I asked an employee for further info she was RUDE and not helpful at all. It's extremely unfortunate that Michaels is the only craft store around. Amazon will have to be my go to from now on. VERY FRUSTRATING

We went with the intent of framing a lithograph. This whole store couldn't had had more than 3 or 4 employees out front. The framing person was also the cashier. After 15 or 20 minutes we left and found a really nice custom framing store in Ocean Grove. Never again.

I stood at the framing desk for several minutes in sight of 2 workers who looked right at me . When I was finally acknowledged I was told framing my 5x7 wedding invitation would be over $100-200 , without any discussion of options! I was then told it would be at least 2 weeks as he was quitting. Not helpful and unprofessional

This is the worst store I've ever found for my daughter to work at or be a part of ! The manager intimidated my daughter into signing voucher fraud forms when she's always been a star at the register and everything she's done in almost 2 years and loved her job until this new store a manager stalked her and circled her every time she was at work just waiting for an opportunity to scare her off. She was May employee of the month .My daughter even taught the manager how to do things and he and 3 other unnamed people she spoke with on the phone sent her home for 4 days only to fire her to not have to own any part in what they did to her. I'm extremely disappointed with the conduct of this company and I will be calling osha to deal with these issues. She's even worked overtime when no one else would work or just to help keep the store ahead. She didn't even get paid for the 50 hours she worked over Christmas and instead of paying her they fired her. I will never set foot in this store again and they will get one hell of a lawsuit for this !

the store manager told me off telling me off having a fit at me telling me I shouldn't have come in when I asked him if there was plaster paste in the store and then he told me to get lost and go to a Home Depot ! very. unpleasant this store has gotten so much worse since they changed managers. he even took a swing at me when I asked him for paint after the fact. I'm never coming back. this store will be out of business in no time

I recently tried to purchase several items from the Eatontown store. First 2 employees couldn't find a price on a reduced item then overcharged me ona reduced Fall item which should have been 70 %off. Then when I attempted to use my $5 online coupon they couldn't access it! Worsof all one of these women has a really rank unwashed stink about her! I left without purchasing anything!

My daughter was looking for some art supplies, so we came here, becuase this is the place to find it. However, this place is very large, but don't expect much help, as it was difficult to find anyone that worked the floor. There doesn't seem to be any obvious layout to the store either, so you really need to walk a large part of the store to find what you need.

Avoid the frame shop inside this Eatontown Michael's by all means. I brought a canvas to be stretched and framed. $320 and two weeks later the finished product was a loose, flappy, wrinkled poorly stretched canvas. So loose that by just lightly shaking the frame, the canvas sounded and shaked like a loose sail in the wind. The gallery frame was not put together correctly. The top two corners don't meet properly. There is glue all around the top of the frame. The back of the canvas consisted of two pieces of paper glued together! It was bulky and wrinkled which will prevent the frame from laying flat against the wall. Who puts paper behind a stretched canvas? Its is not a poster frame!!! The frame was extremely cheap. They didn't even add a middle support bar as the painting is 54'x40'! The young people working there have no clue of craftsmanship. The job was obviously executed without any care nor skill. I am so disappointed/aggravated that i won't even go back and complain as they don't know any better. I will take my large modern art painting elsewhere. Beware when bringing your valuable art to this framing store. It will be handled by young kids who are payed 10$ an hour. Stay away-awful! Lesson learned.

This arts and craft store is near to me, but I hardly go here for crafty needs. And I usually go when I am equipped with a 50% off coupon. I didn't have one, oh well, but asked the cashier if I could use one of theirs. She made a couple of intercom calls and her response was NO COUPONS. I browsed throughout the store and didn't find what I wanted cuz I didn't have a coupon. CYI? Why? Because I feel the 50% off is a must here. I got used to it all the years they have offered this. The stores I have seen are strategically set up but they always look "shopped ", ie stuff strewn like K Mart. You know what I mean.

Giving 2 stars. I'm a full time artist and my free time is sparse. This is the closest place for me to buy art supplies, it's a 20 minute ride. Had some where to be and just needed to pick up a few things I had run out of. Go to the check out line and as per usual, there's ONE cashier and the line winding into the cake decorating area. First of all, friggin call for back up. Secondly, why is there just one cashier on Sunday? This is to me, highly inconsiderate of the consumers precious time. Ending up leaving because of course there were issues in line with prices and coupons and all that crap and yet, no back up came. This is why Amazon is getting a lot of people's business. 1) they don't have to drive 20 minutes 2) they don't have to use gas 3) less aggravating then waiting in lines so that Michaels can meet their quarterly budgets.

I love Michaels. This location is always well-stocked and they have lots of sales. One thing they could definitely improve on is the friendliness of the employees. I hate it when people follow me around and ask if I need help (I prefer to seek it out myself or just search for hours until I find it on my own ), but I have witnessed other people receiving help and it often looks as though they're being burdened. Same with the cashiers. They're not rude, but they're not very engaging either. Michaels is great for crafts and diy projects, plus they have some home decorating aisles as well!
