Such beautiful desserts, with unique flavors, textures, and more. I was so excited to try them and wish I could have had a little bit of everything.

I don't have any problem with their products but the sales lady at the counter is not so friendly. I have been there many times and she always seem so hostile. Wish they would replace her really.

We were at Mitsuwa and so happy that Minamoto Kitchen was here. Used to hit this place up regularly when I worked in lower Manhattan. My Daughter loves the exquisitely made jellies. Everything from here is a work of art and so damn delicious. She got the shaky to jelly which I believe is peach. Definitely returning here for more goodies. Sorry no pictures as she ate it before I could take a pic. Service is as always wonderful and every aspect of shopping here is an absolute pleasure. If you're in Edgewater you should stop in and try something different and delicious.

This place is such a classic and always has the best Japanese sweets, not to mention the beautiful presentation of everything tasty just gives you such a zen vibe when you walk in. The shop has moved several times since I first discovered it, back when it was near Saks fifth avenue at the Rockefeller Center. But the consistency of quality has always been maintained. My favorite is their seasonal cherry Mochi wrapped in a slightly savory leaf - the combination of the sweet cherry and red bean taste with a tinge of salt and freshness from the leaf is just perfectly delightful. And when they have mugworts Mochi - that beautiful, refreshing flavor also pairs with the sweetness of red beans so well. While I can't have the pancakes with red been in the center any longer, if you're not gluten intolerant, it is definitely a good treat to have as well. They have so many other beautifully packaged goodies as well, and one of these days, I'm definitely planning to splurge on that peach jello treat!

My mom and I picked up some goodies from here and everything gets a 10/10! We bought the ayashirabe in regular white bean and matcha paste, and oribenishiki. They were all small and about $4/piece, but so worth it! The staff was very polite and all spoke Japanese. They properly wrapped each box and put it in a beautiful bag. Service 10/10 Treats 10/10 My favorite was the original white bean ayashirabe. Not too sweet and the perfect treat!

I wish I got the name of the nice lady that helped me pick something out for my girlfriend. VERY professional service, I was kind of blown away by the professionalism that matches the high-end look of this little island in the middle of MitsuwaI got a $60 set of 15 of these little things. My girlfriend has always wanted them but I thought they could not be worth the price but DAMN was I wrong. I had a chocolate one and I realized I had been wasting my life before this. It’s really that good. If you’re wondering if it’s worth it it absolutely is.Thanks for making my girlfriend’s birthday special!

I don't know why but I've spent years walking by ogling the traditional Japanese sweets on display and wondering what they taste like. Well, I'm finally not a student anymore and am making a little bit of real money so I decided to try a couple of things to see if this place is worth the prices. We got a box of the peach mochi and one pear jelly to try. The mochi was actually delicious and exceeded my expectations. It's clear that this is not your everyday mochi you can get at froyo places or the supermarket. The texture is different--more delicate and springy, still chewy though and imbued with peachy goodness. I am very tempted to get the variety pack next time which includes the peach, strawberry, and matcha mochi (but not the chocolate which also looked great...). The pear jelly was tasty as well and really tasted strongly of pear, but I didn't think it was as worth it. I'll probably stick to the mochi here for now and maybe expand to the cookies and dorayaki later. Everything here is packaged exquisitely and would make great gifts. I will probably return for Christmas shopping.

Expensive, bad quality, bad service, not worthy! It tastes like cheap artificial sugar, but charges hundreds of dollars. Definitely not worth the price. I would rather go to Dunkin’ for dessert! Also the cashier was not friendly, she refused to give us any recommendations. She said everything they sold were all good but in fact the five items we bought were all disaster.Avoid this place and save your money.

I usually love this place but was really disappointed with my recent purchase. Made a very large purchase (close to $200) and some of the items i bought were stale and hard! Two boxes of chocolate Mochi were stale. One was still edible but the second box was totally inedible because it was so hard. A box of the strawberry Mochi also did not seem fresh as it wasn't as soft as normal. Mochi was purchased to take over to someone's house for dessert so it was quite embarrassing that the Mochi was not fresh! And we checked expiration dates too! So not sure if they switched out the expiration stickers at the shop. I feel ripped off. Not like this stuff is cheap. I will now be hesitant to make another purchase. I used to give these as gifts but I don't think I will do that anymore.
