My go-to place for quick dinner at the food court. However, some restaurants have long waiting lines. The store is great for quick snack purchases!

Love coming to this market. They have so many good products to buy plus the food court is great for lunch and dessert! Love the cream yaki there. Also a bonus that there is bookstore nearby if you want to look for some manga!

I bought a small package of otoro, which comes out to $99/lb. The tuna itself is from Spain. I found otoro sushi, but was told that otoro is previously frozen. You're better off getting it from the season section, having them slice it for you, buy the sushi rice from somewhere and make the sushi yourself! Melt in your mouth good!

While visiting New Jersey during the holidays, we looked for a place to eat lunch and to hang out afterwards. Mitsuwa was just the place and ended up staying in the shopping center for about 5 hours, taking care of not just our lunch but dinner. There are plenty of restaurants inside the marketplace and the lines get quite long during lunch hours (especially the ramen). Seatings, although at first glance looks plenty, gets filled up pretty quickly during lunch hours. The market itself has lots of things to look around and Japanese snacks and drinks we wouldn't see down in Virginia area. Outside the marketplace, walking distance is Daiso and bookstores to enjoy and towards the back, you get a nice skyline view of New york city. All in all, this marketplace and area itself is a good place to spend the afternoon :)

He loves seafood so this was the perfect place to stop and grab everything. Looks just like the market in Japan. Had everything we needed. Beautiful selection of roe and cuts of fish. Well organized. Most makeup was reasonably priced but there were some kids items that seemed a bit over priced but most things were at a regular or even cheap price point.High quality Wagyu cuts that they really enjoyed.

I can’t even begin to explain my love for Mitsuwa Marketplace. Been going here since I was 4 years old and glad to see the place has stuck to its authenticity. In terms of groceries, Mitsuwa can be on the pricier side but everything is very high quality. Mainly Japanese foods, products and even skincare. I am always excited to go here since the place is very nostalgic. For the food court, it is the most authentic version you could find around this area. Here are some of my recommendations; the spicy miso from Hokkaido Ramen (pork broth), the Takoyaki from Hannosuke, the dumplings from Hanten. There’s so much food to try! If your craving something sweet Kai Creamery is the place to go, the purple potato (taro) ice cream is to die for. But off in the back is a donut place with the fluffiest matcha donuts which I also suggest. There are also many storefronts around the area to explore, I could not rave about this place any more! The photo is of purple potato ice cream with red bean from Kai Creamery!

Loved the market, it reminds me of the Japanese markets in California. I went there in the late afternoon and the parking lot was packed and so was the market. I would go earlier moving forward. The loved the food options there and all the Asian products.

Literally cannot believe I have never left a review for Mitsuwa! Anytime we're in Jersey and have access to a car, we always make time to visit Mitsuwa. If you love Japanese food and Japan, there is no way you won't enjoy. Whether its Japanese condiments, sushi grade fish, snacks, fun beverages, or prepared foods - they have it. Admittedly, their produce section is a disappointment. I didn't realize how small it was until my last visit. The best part? The food court attached to the grocery store. They have froyo, Japanese curry, sushi, ramen, onigiri and more. They even have Royce chocolate and a fancy gelatin fruit stall. The best day ever you ask? Get a scrub from SoJo and make your way a to Mitsuwa for a dinner snack.
