I've been coming here for a couple years now and i've never had someone "nerd out" about hair as much as he does. Amazing haircuts!

Pewter is the most professional barber I’ve ever seen! He for sure knows what he is doing and why. It’s not only a haircut, it's the whole educational process, after which you know exactly what you want from your hair and what is the best for it. On the very first visit, Pewter helped me to find what haircut works the best for me, so afterward, I had all of the basics I needed to know on how to get the best results with my hair. You will definitely be excited about the visit if you are curious about your hair.Services: Custom cut

Had a Full Signature Haircut including consultation & beard/stache trim with Walter and I had a wonderful, educating experience.I was looking for professional guidance on what to do with my short mustache/beard that I've been sporting since 4 years ago along with longer hair style and Walter first gave me a good 20-30 min education on how I should manage mine (after also asking questions along the way of what I'd be comfortable sporting) + his take on how I should wear my hair & beard. Then he proceeded to do a light hair cut explaining since the length is perfect there wasn't a lot to do externally, but trimmed / layered the inside and cleaned up sides & neck while giving valuable advice to grow out the back inner hair a bit so that my hair would have more fuller look. Then he showed me how to trim my mustache w/ the clipper before showing me how to draw the mustache/beard line using his surgical grade straight razor. I appreciated how he thoroughly explained it so that I can also do that maintenance at home. He showed me comparison from one side to another which wasn't done yet, and the difference was more stark than I imagined - very clean cut and the definition just came through in my overall look. For those wondering, his studio is in this residential apartment looking (but an older sugar factory converted to mixed use building) mid-rise building, so you can park at the rear left lot of the Brownstone Pancake restaurant letting the valet guys know you're going to the barber, park behind that building (NOT the brownstones building) which has a dry cleaner on the first floor, come around the River Rd side and enter from the front entryway with awning over it.I was very happy with this experience and Walter's professionalism - he's a very likable gent to speak to. I should say there was a counter of spirits... not sure if he offers it to members only but I might ask him for it next time haha.If you love to get your men's grooming done right while learning a lot of useful information to take you to the next level, please don't hesitate to go see Walter. I'll definitely see him time to time to maintain as I grow out my look.Highly recommended.Services: Fade cut

Walter changed my perspective of what to expect when getting a haircut. Unlike the typical "What do you want", he breaks down your hairstyle and personalizes each experience. It's clear he's an expert in his craft and truly cares for each of his clients. The studio is located in a great environment where several conversations aren't happening at once. Great experience overall - Highly recommended!Service: Haircut

I’ve been a customer of The Pewter Club for three years. I didn’t know what a good haircut was before I started going there. The owner and chief barber, Walter, is highly skilled in multiple styles and extremely knowledgeable about hair and skin care. Their service is by appointment only, which makes planning amidst a busy schedule much more predictable. They only service one customer at a time, so your experience is private, quiet, and safe. They also develop and sell their own vegan, paraben-free, phthalate-free, gluten-free and gender-neutral body wash, conditioner, serum, cream, and tonic, for hair and body maintenance. I can’t say enough about this fantastic place.Service: Haircut

DO NOT BOOK. He will cancel your appointment DAY OF for no reason. Huge inconvenience. Its as if he's doing you a favor- as if you're inconveniencing him. No one should feel that way, especially something as sensitive as a haircut. We are all human and to have complete disregard for your prospective clients' time is not only unprofessional but not indicative of a person who is caring, compassionate enough to listen to what you are looking for in appearance. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new barber. Read these reviews and this sounded like a good match. The price of $80 doesn't bother me as I am used to taking very good care of my barbers and I am used to a private barber experience. I booked an appointment about a week out, waiting to grow my hair a bit more so he would have something more to work with. I book, get a confirmation email (after the booking email), which I reply to confirming the appointment. On the day of the appointment, he cancels on me and states I didn't pick up his phone call. I don't have service at my place of work. I've already confirmed a day before? Just charge me if I don't come? I could have gone to many others in the area. Now I'm left without a haircut and have to re-arrange my schedule because of this. So I finally speak to him and he says it's too late for me to book, even for available appointments this week, he give me the run around and isn't straight with me. I asked him "so if I would have picked up my call you would have taken me as a client" he said yes, then says "he's no longer open to new clients"? Doesn't make any sense. Won't allow me to book anymore? Says he's not taking clients. So I'll save you all the time, don't book. He's too busy. He really can't be that good anyway

I’ve been going to Walter for years now and he’s extremely knowledgeable and a master at his craft. His haircuts are second to none. He also has his own line of hair/body products that are better than top shelf name brand products out there.Services: Haircut
