Nj sucks. They wouldn't update my inspection sticker because I had light tints. Said I had to cut a 6"x9" rectangle in my tints. Yeah ok lol

The DMV at Edison NJ was a positive experience-organized, courteous, patient, and clean atmosphere. I would recommend highly to anyone seeking services

Terrible driver test process. Didn’t take the student outside even on the local road before giving the drivers license. Literally only did parking test of parallel parking and K turn. They should be held liable for any accidents

I recently had to visit the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission Kilmer NJ for a vehicle registration renewal and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the process was quick and easy. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Here are some of the things I liked about my experience:The facility was clean and well-organized.The staff was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions thoroughly. The process was streamlined and efficient.I was able to get my registration renewed quickly and easily.

I’ve been here many times and I’ve never had a bad experience. I just got my inspection today (10/26) and it took less than 10 minutes (no line). I work about 15-20 minutes away so I went during my lunch break (1:30-2pm). I suggest avoiding the very beginning and end of the month, as they tend to be busier. Make sure you have your license, registration, and proof of insurance on you.

Seconding the majority of the comments in the reviews- as someone who has worked in customer service I try to assume the best in people and try to give people the benefit of the doubt but the people working here are irritable, unbelievably passive aggressive, and outstandingly rude. Almost every interaction you have is off putting and they operate with the assumption that you did something wrong/ will treat you with the assumption that you are stupid. You don't have to be polite or even smile- just don't be rude. Retraining needs to be implemented here or a turnover of staff.

I never thought I would give 5 stars to a NJ MVC, but then I had to be fair. I had a wonderful experience there today. I was trying to renew my license and get a Real ID at the same time. While a renewal can be done online getting a Real ID requires you to visit the NJ MVC in person. My appointment was at 10:00am and I was out by 10:10am! The place has been completely streamlined. You show your documents to the front desk person who directs you to a counter and then finally you go to a booth where your picture is taken and you pay your fees. Incredible improvement since the pandemic. Keep it up NJ MVC!!

Usually it's a busy place for vehicle inspiration, but the good thing is that you can see outside cameras to check the traffic (wait time) on there website.

Most frustrating experience I've had at a DMV. Waited 40 min in line after arriving on time and overheard the staff being rude and abrupt with those in front of me; it seemed like they were looking for reasons not to have to serve them and, instead of explaining how to complete the forms correctly next time, just sent people away. I watched a staff member berate a Hispanic woman who didn't speak English who was trying to type something into Google Translate on her phone, saying "I don't have time for this, bring a translator." Another staff member who previously claimed she spoke "very good" Spanish was watching doing nothing. When it was my turn, I was sent to the back of the line for not having filled out a form in duplicate (my mistake, but it would have taken 30 s, and my other documents needed at least 2 min to sort through - it could have been done at the counter without delaying any other customers.) Went to back of line, completed my 30 s form, then got back to the desk and was denied a Real ID because my bank statement said "Activity Summary" on top instead of "Bank Statement". The staff member told me it was no big deal since Real ID is not required in NJ yet - so what? I wanted it! I understand it can be taxing working with the public, but treating your customers like they're incompetent, being rude, and not understanding your own work requirements is no solution. Work on customer service and brush up on the laws you are supposed to enforce.
