i would give this place 5 stars if it werent for their stupid "key fob" rule which affects people who cant drive and therefore dont have car keys1) i hate having to remember to not only bring my membership card but also my key fob just to unlock a door its just another hassle to remember something to tiny2) i dont even have to use my key fob 50% of the time because someone else already uses theirs to open the door for me3) worst of all why are members (people who actually pay monthly and dont break the rules) are the ones who HAVE TO PAY FOR A KEY FOB. $5 FOR ONE KEY FOB??? WE GOTTA PAY TO UNLOCK A DOOR???and yes, you can put this key fob on your car keys and it's no big deal. but for people like me who cant drive i hate having to carry around my key fob in the facility and risk losing it.im sorry but these key fobs gotta go. never understood why they dont have someone physically check who has a membership and who doesn't. these key fobs arent doing anything and i really question the decision making of whoever made this rule

Not atall good . I enrolled as a member to get benefits of different classes. The swim classes are not good. They don’t teach good here. Their level of quality is disgusting. Upon my complain, the director says she never heard of this. It’s the first time she got this kinda complain. And when it comes to cancellation they want you to come there and cancel. After I spoke to them after unused 3 months charges , they send me an email to cancel the membership but did not send the very first time. Did not like their service at-all and the director is so rude.

This past Wednesday, I attempted to enter the JCC/Edison YMCA with my three-year-old son by scanning my membership card, as I have done on numerous occasions without incident since August. However, after I scanned my card, a front desk employee wearing a nametag labelled Maria confronted me and accusingly claimed, "Well, you’re not even a nationwide member yet. I can’t find you!" I answered, "Well, I have been here a few times, but no one has ever told me about this." Marie then dismissively said, "Ok, you can go now." I explained to her, "I never had a problem coming here before, and now you’re the only person to complain to me about this."Another member who was behind me and attempting to enter the facility then turned to me and said, "Yeah, she does that to me too.” After scanning his membership card, he then asked Maria, "Am I good to go?"Maria completely ignored him, came out of her seat, and walked around the counter. She then stood in front of me and continued to argue with me. I asked her if she could talk to me courteously instead of condescendingly. Finally, Maria asked me, "What is your nationality?"I was in total disbelief why she would need to ask me this question, or even how this question was relevant to nationwide membership. I then retorted, "It's none of your business."I then asked Marie if I could speak to her supervisor. Maria then said, "You cannot talk to my supervisor since she left already."At this point, I didn't want to waste any more of my time with her and proceeded to enter the facility to go swimming with my young son. It was getting late and the pool was closing soon. I went down the hallway towards the locker rooms. Maria then followed me, claiming I needed to sign a form on her iPad since I wasn't a nationwide member. She then turned around and said she was going to bring other staff.I entered the pool with my young son and after a few minutes, I saw Maria run into locker room and enter the pool with two other employees, one of them named Ken. Maria then yelled at me, “Ma'am you need to get out off pool and sign this form!" I was in total shock that Maria would chase me all the way to the pool and terrify me like this in front of my young son. I told Maria, "You have terrible customer service."After Maria left, I explained the situation to Ken, and Ken said he would help me if I needed to sign anything. After the pool closed, Ken said he looked in the system and confirmed that I was already a nationwide member and had signed a waiver. Ken was very helpful in defusing the situation. This is not the first time Maria has belittled me like this. During my interactions with Maria, she has always been either disrespectful or dismissive of me. Last summer, when I asked Maria about the summer camp and swimming programs for my young son, she dismissively said that I needed to ask someone else or come back tomorrow. Maria claimed she has difficulty hearing people.

not the same as it use to be. It use to have a sense of community, I use to be friendly with all the staff as I'd see them working. Now there seems to be no staff but front desk. No one ever supervises the work out room. I don't even know who works there, directors, and such, never seen them. How do they know what the members want if they don't even introduce themselves to regulars or make themselves seen? There are no health and wellness programs like there use to be on the ymca side, and if there is, they don't put it it on their facebook until the same day. I use to volunteer there for years, but never hear of volunteer opportunities anymore.

They take membership fees and rent out basketball court for other events in regular basis. Its the 7day when basket ball court is closed. My son and his friends are so upset by seeing that every weekend they keep the court closed. YMCA is supposed to encourage youths spending time in gym developing their body and mind but this facility don't care other than membership fee.

Everything else about the YMCA is pretty good like the gym and swimming pool. However, I don’t know why there’s always an event in the basketball court every single week. I’m not able to practice there because they keep the court closed for the entire day! The basketball court is also overcrowded and the other side of the court is always used for badminton. If they can somehow keep the events somewhere else and keep the badminton people somewhere else that would be great. Otherwise, I’ll have to cancel my membership and get a membership somewhere else where the basketball court isn’t the only place that’s closed all the time.

Nicely located right on oak tree road. Good parking facilities. They run free gyms for 7th graders which is very useful . Kids can sign up and play various things like basket ball , ping pings , pool etc. I haven’t heard of any other gym franchisee doing this . Kudos to the team ????? … gym looks good . Lots of equipments and mostly available . Overall a good experience ..

I had a horrible experience here as someone who is new to YMCA. The lady at the front is very disrespectful and isn’t helpful with guidelines. I hope they can get more friendly and respectful staff there.

This is a horrible place to send your kids. I wish i could give it zero star. My son went here for preschool for just few months and the teachers were non-chalant about him, does not include him in their activities because he has a language delay. One time, he was left drenched in his urine and that was when I decided I had had enough. Now he goes somewhere else where he is loved and taken care of. The director at this site seem to be trying to handle affairs but one tree can not make a forest.

This rating is not for Edison YMCA but its the Easter Egg hunt event they organized today at Oak Crest Community Pool. It was such a bummer felt like we are April Fooled on Easter eve. 5$ for each kid got into a park which was having nothing….the easter eggs are dollar tree eggs without having anything inside that. Also the eggs were thrown only in the beginning and end of the show so almost a lot of kids would have missed the eggs. Felt sorry about the parents carrying empty buckets. The face paint was such a big line that you have to spend almost 1hr(why don't you have multiple stand for this).Seriously you guys need to take lesson in event management.I will never pay 5$ to get into a substandard park when the best are available for free.

I come here everyday after school for lifting, I can say this is one of the best places for exercising. Building is always clean, staff is very nice and chill, and it has everything for exercise (basketball, weights, swimming, cardio etc.) The design of the building is also very modern. It usually gets a little crowded around 6-8pm but for the most part it's not that bad.

Love this place, it's got a great vibe and the staff especially Poornima are super helpful. They should just have enough badminton timeslots (post office hours) throughout the day though!
