Review for Jake at Freedman Auto Service
I first brought my car to Jake at Freedman Auto Service about 15 years ago, and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. From the very beginning, Jake was kind, patient, and incredibly considerate of my limited car knowledge at the time. He always took the time to explain repairs clearly and made sure every job was done professionally and safely — something that meant the world to me when I was driving my young children around.
Jake and his entire team are consistently courteous, honest, and dedicated to doing things the right way. Their service is truly custom to each client, and you can feel the pride they take in their work every single visit.
Fifteen years later, I couldn’t be happier with the level of care, expertise, and trustworthiness I receive at Freedman Auto Service.

Phenomenal work done in short amounts of time.
Have been here twice for separate occasions. First time was a Driver lower control arm replacement. Second was my power steering system went and had to get re-done. They are straight to the point and wont haggle. Hard to find good TRUSTWORTHY mechanics and this place checks all the boxes.

Was NEVER informed that there will be extra charge for using my credit card before the service was rendered. Avoid. They charge fees for using the credit card. Agent NEVER, NOT EVEN ONCE, mentioned BEFORE the Service was rendered, that I will have PAY EXTRA if I use my credit card... BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Got a quote for service before it was done, Extra Fees was NEVER MENTIONED, but HAD TO PAY EXTRA at the end to get the car back because Agent FAILED to state, there are EXTRA FEES for paying with Credit Card vs Cash.

These guys are awesome! They fixed both my control arms and a CV axle for a very decent price! They were very kind and respectful. They answered all my questions and gave a detailed explanation of the issues. This is now my regular mechanic! I will be recommending them to everyone

The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. Service was fast and completed within 1-2 hours. I had tires shipped from Tire Rack and they were installed without any issues for a very reasonable cost.

The sales rep was very nice at first. But they pulled a super sneaky move on me. I went there cause I had a nail in my tire. I had contential tires. So when I was looking to only get 1 replaced, they would change 1 with the same tire correct? Well than he up sells me on buying 4 which ok I did it. Than when I’m home I’m checking my bill and I’m like what the hell is summit. Only continental was mentioned from my mouth. Never even heard the word summit in my life. From him, or me. Than I pick up my car and there is 4 completely different tires than what I had on them. IF I know I was getting quoted for a brand of tires I never heard of or used. I would have in fact shopped around. I was under the impression I was getting quoted for 4 of the same tires I had on my car already, which 2 of them were still in good shape but he seemed like a nice guy and nice business so I said just do the whole thing. Nope. I got 4 off brand tires, which he may have quoted me (PRICE WISE) for in the beginning but he never once mentioned the brand of tires. Didn’t even give me the choice to go inbetween “summit” or contential to begin with. For 300 more I may have just gotten the tires I already had if I’m already paying 600. Always confirm what your getting here because I got sneaked out for some shit tires I didn’t want. Insane. I looked at him in the eyes and said they’re contential right. He said yes. He even said the word contential outside. I bet if you check the camera audio you will see. I didn’t make a big fuss about it because he was a nice guy. But this is insane. I’m really upset over this. I would have just paid more or went somewhere else if I knew it was summit!!!

I had an excellent experience with this mechanic! They were very kind and welcoming, helped me change my flat tire, and truly showed they are good people. Very attentive and helpful throughout the whole process. I highly recommend them!

I’ve been a loyal customer of Freedman Auto Service since 2015 and have always appreciated their professionalism and attention to detail. Over the years, I’ve trusted them with my car and chosen their service over others, even if their prices weren’t the lowest, because I believed in the quality of their work.
However, my recent experience has left me disappointed. After my car had been sitting idle for a few months, I brought it in for a comprehensive inspection. I ended up paying over $2,000 for new brakes, tires, a battery, and other maintenance work. I was happy to invest in getting my car back into good shape.
But as I drove away from the shop, I immediately noticed a warning on the dashboard indicating that the trunk was not closed. I pulled over and found that the trunk would not latch shut, and there was visible black grease on the latch. This issue did not exist when I brought the car in. In fact, just the day before I had opened and closed the trunk without any problem.
When I returned, I was told the trunk issue was likely due to the car being idle for too long. But I had asked for a full inspection, and this very visible and safety-relevant problem was neither mentioned to me, nor addressed before I picked up the vehicle. I find it concerning that I was handed back a car with the trunk not secured, and no warning or explanation until I discovered it myself on the road.
Now I am being quoted an additional $1,000 to fix the trunk. Whether the timing of the failure was just coincidence or not, the fact remains that the issue emerged during the service period and right after the work was done. That makes it hard not to feel disappointed.
I still believe Freedman Auto Service has good people and has provided me with years of reliable care. But this experience has shaken my confidence, especially given how this issue was handled. I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit of honesty and improvement, because I truly want to trust this shop the way I used to.

My family comes here for their cars, and we've always had great experiences. I came in today, and Jake was incredibly kind and helpful. He took the time to explain everything that was wrong with my tires and brakes in a way I could understand. As a female college student with little car knowledge, I really appreciated how respectfully and patiently he spoke to me.
My immediate and extended family have also had positive interactions with Jake, so I just want to say thank you to him for consistently providing such excellent service.
However, I did want to mention that when I came to pick up my car, the older gentleman with glasses and the woman in her office weren’t as friendly and gave off a bit of an attitude, which was disappointing compared to the rest of my experience.
Overall, I’m very grateful for Jake’s help. Thanks again!
