Made an appt for my brakes bleeding after a day when I get there they said that it can’t be done in there because it could be the master cylinder or the booster, so they didn’t even bother to bleed the brakes and then if was the booster or the master cylinder then tell me. I thought you were in the fixing car businesses waste of time had to drive back with brakes like that. Went to Japanese automotive or John’s in Plainfield ave. Better

Pepe mechanics will con you into fixing parts that are not broken to justify thr high price. I was quoted 6500 just to get a second option and to find out all the repairs were false and the real problem was a $100 bracket. I will never go there or trust them again

The staff is nice. But they delay two hours to finish oil change. And, after their work, I heard there was noice in the bottom of my car and there should be mechanic problem created in their work.

I was overcharged because the advisor realized I had no idea about cars

Dropped my car of the night before (scheduled an online appointment for 830) after a nail was in my Tesla and caused a huge chunk of my tire to come off. Called Pep boys at 802 am and a sales rep named Pierre told me to hold and I was on hold until 833am. Pierre came back on and I told him I had an appointment and needed a new tire for my Tesla, Pierre told me they had no tires available and the earliest he could do was Wednesday/thursday. I asked him even if I found one on tire rack could he do it, he told me Wednesday/thursday. I told him I’m from Delaware and he just said “I don’t know what to do” very discouraging , got off the phone and called Mavis down the street and they actually called tire rack and did it for me (AAA towed me there) . Pierre this is not customer service… please discipline him

Three hours for an oil change and tire rotation. The last time I was there I had a 9 o'clock appointment and was out by 10 o'clock. Go figure!

It took them 3 hours to change a light bulb on my headlight. I was not a walk in. I had an appointment. What a waste of my time.

Got 4 tires and a balance. After my car is returned, found out two of the tires were filled to 15 PSI. I also found out a few weeks later that the vehicle shakes while I drive over 60 mph. An issue I never had driving before. I reported the issue, I have been completely ignored.

They appeared to be understaff, but the staff there were so polite and understanding. That's really important to me.

Disappointing Service at Pep Boys
I recently had a very frustrating experience with Pep Boys that I feel needs to be shared. I came in a few days ago to get new tires, with an appointment scheduled for 10 AM. However, when I arrived, I was informed that it would be over an hour before my car would even be taken in. After I left, I noticed my car was not running smoothly, so I called them back, and the manager tried to claim my wheel was bent—something I was never told about when I picked up the car. ( and my wheel was in fact not bent) After some back and forth, I was told to come back the next day.
I scheduled another appointment for 10 AM the following day, hoping for a smoother experience.
When I arrived, I mentioned I had another appointment at 11:30, and the person at the front desk assured me my car would be taken in within 10 minutes and completed within the hour. However, at 10:55, I went up to the desk to check on the status, only to find that my car hadn't even been touched yet. When I reminded them of my 10 AM appointment, I was told, "An appointment only means we will see your car today."
This level of miscommunication and lack of respect for my time is extremely disappointing. I won't be returning and would advise others to think twice before relying on their scheduling or service.

Called to have tires mounted on a new set of rims . Mount , balance , align and install new tpms on all 4 (Even though you have to have someone else program or do it yourself if you have the $250 tool because they don’t have it , smh ) , all that good stuff . Made an appointment . Carry everything out of the cars ( My girlfriend had to assist with transporting) . All for the one tech to open the rims and tell me they aren’t capable of mounting the tires on the rim because it will cause damage to the rim . They don’t have the proper equipment to work on nice rims .. they use equipment that damages every single rim that goes on the machine . I wish I could give 0 stars for flat out just wasting my time . Not the first time I’ve had an issue with this place and it for damn sure will be my last . Absolute disgrace of a “Shop” . Then the guy had the balls to say oh I’m doing you a favor by telling you that before we did it and took your 250 . Buddy …. It would have cost you a lot more in the long run had they done that and damaged those rims !

I went to PepBoys (Old Post Road) for fanblower not working for my Mercedes . After they did the diagnostics which they charged for, I got check engine light. When I went to the Mercedes service center, they told me that the previous diagnostics has left many ports and nuts still open. That was rude shock to me

I've only ever been here for minor things like an oil change but somehow it's always gone wrong, three oil changes ago I drove away and a few hours later my car was telling me it had no oil in it, two oil changes ago I drove away and all of my coolant was somehow drained out. This time I've gotten an oil change and for some reason now my perfectly working battery is shot. I almost have the sense that they do something to your car so you'll have to come back and have something else repaired. Three times in a row now this cannot be a coincidence.
