Call center advertised to be staffed until pasr 6pm. I called at 5:15pm on Dec 29, was told main office is closed, no link to call service center. Purpose was to get current CD rates for maturing CD on 12/30.

After having my account fraudulently charged I was told to solve the issue with the obviously phony company who's phone number was disconnected. "Oh well, sorry" is all I got from the bank. They didn't even care I closed my account. Clearly they do not value their customers

I would not recommend this bank. They do not treat customers well and talk down to them. They try everything in their power to not help good customers. I will be finding another bank. I do not want to give this bank another day of my business.

The hours are incorrect. I am outside your office right now, and no one is here. I drove 30 mins to find the doors locked. Very disappointed. When I call the phone number, it says the administrative office is now closed.

Were there a way to give negative number of starts to this bank I'd do that. I had a mortgage and equity loan out with NJM Bank. They left the banking business to concentrate on their insurance business and sold all their loans to Spencer Savings Bank. This is a real shame. NJM bank was very customer friendly, ready to attack an issue if there was a problem and were just a joy to deal with. Spencer is exactly the polar opposite. They make errors and will deny them up to the point that you prove the legally wrong and even then it takes months for them to correct matters. Then they'll let you know that they think they are still right. The customer service is worse than a bad used car dealer. They will constantly try to find a way to squeeze another nickel out of you. I paid off my mortgage and got charged $45 for them to process the paperwork. Not happy since it's like that document fee you pay on cars. They are supposed to cover that through the thousands of dollars they've collected from you over the years. They choose not to and will spend hours on the phone defending their practices. The straw that broke the camel's back is that I paid off the equity loan in its entirety and now they want not only the $45 for canceling the paid for loan, but want $4.01 for the interest that accrued beyond the payoff date. The last payment on a loan with a monthly payment of $207.63 I paid with a check for $795.94. They say that their policy continues to accrue interest even with a zero balance. I have spoken to front line people, assistant managers, managers and even the president's office and have no satisfaction. Were this the only time they tried extorting money that's not in the contract I might let it go. It's not. Not even close. Stay far, far away.

Absolutely disgusting people. They are rude, uncivil, and that's just the start of it. They treat their customers with such disrespect I wonder how they treat their own employees! I have never been so appalled in my life from a corporate bank. This is exactly why PNC, TD, and Valley are better. I have never heard of this bank in my life before and this is clearly why! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO EVEN MY WORST ENEMY!

Front disk manager didn't know anything about SBA loans which is very well known infact she didn't know if Spencer bank provids any type of business loans at all which it was shocking to me.
