This doctor’s office is awesome. If you show up on time they get you right in, there’s usually no delay and you’re in and out. They’re very fast, efficient, warm and friendly. I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else.

PROS: This place was amazing! the receptionists were all nice and professional while Dr. Benke was truly helpful with my injury. The waiting room was spacious and clean while the patient rooms had state of the art equipment. CONS: The slow elevator and limited parking wasn't something I was too fond of but I dealt with itOVERALL: I will likely be coming back here if I need another orthopedic doctor because this office is the most comforting for me

I highly recommend Dr. Angela Giuffrida as a top tier hand specialist and surgeon. She's knowledgeable, skilled, and explains procedures/ follow up care in a clear manner. Dr. Giuffrida and her assistant Michael always treat you with personal respect, never pedantic in their explanations of your condition and suggested remedies. I have one friend who took my recommendation, and he also posted a favorable review for Dr. Giuffrida. While I'm not crazy about having trigger finger issues, I'm pleased to have Dr. Giuffrida as my surgeon.

I took my son here the other day because I thought he broke his ankle. It turned out to be a really bad sprain (thank god). The doctor he seen was really friendly and professional. The staff seemed to be friendly and professional as well.. the office was clean and they made sure everyone had a mask on. I will be back for a follow up with my son real soon...

The acquisition is a shame. Their customer service reps have me looking for a new doctor. I've used both Dr. Meyer and Dr. Napoli for various issues over the years but unfortunately both times I've called the office recently the people were very rude. One woman actually hung up on me after I waited on hold for a while.

This is really a 0 stars rating from me. I filed a complaint against Active Orthopedics with its new parent company, Summit Health regarding the following: I am a patient of Dr. John and needed a prescription refill. I called the Emerson office continually for two days and received a recording with no option to leave a message. I listened to that recording for 30 minutes on the second day. No one was answering the phones. The second day, I began pressing any prompt and somehow connected to a woman named Aurora (in billing maybe?) who told me that Dr. John was in surgery all day the first day and seeing patients all day the second day. She told me that his patient care coordinator would not be in until later in the week, and it could take a day or two for Dr. John to fill the prescription because he was so busy. She said she would pass along the prescription request, which thankfully, she did. I called Summit Health to report the situation. While I was on hold, the receptionist there tried to get through to the Emerson office at 201-358-0707 and could not. She then transferred me to the Patient Relations department to file a complaint, which I did. The woman at Summit Health stated that Active Orthopedics was a new acquisition of theirs, and that the phone/office situation would be rectified. On the third day, I was notified that my prescription had been filled, but when I tried to call the Emerson office with questions, I still could not get through. When I had my initial appointment with Dr. John in May, I found him dismissive, somewhat arrogant and rushed. He looked at my x-ray, said I did not need knee surgery, gave me injections in both knees, and prescribed the aforementioned medication. He answered my questions while backing out of the doorway. My knees are still killing me, but I can't get through to the office to make another appointment. There are too many orthopedists in this practice accepting more patients than they or the office staff can handle. They clearly have no time or interest in real patient care or follow up. For my initial appointment with the guru of knees over 60, it took me 15 minutes to get a parking space in their crazy busy (and kind of dangerous) parking lot, and I waited behind at least 8 people to check in and again to check out (about 20 minutes each time). When I was checking out, I asked the very beleaguered woman at the desk what was going on, and how on earth does she manage this? She responded, "This is greed, pure and simple." I have to agree, and I will be finding another orthopedist for sure. Not being able to reach a medical office or leave a message is not o.k. I sincerely hope this is not the future of medicine in this country. That would be horrific.

I was totally disappointed in this office. Was told needed arthroscopic surgery for my knee. No one not even PV meridian health let me know my insurance was in a tier or standard savings. Got a 4K bill and found out that way after the surgery from the hospital. No one not the doctors office or hospital when I went to pre register 5 days before surgery made me aware of this. Extremely disappointed and trying to get some relief from hospital but who knows what that will get me

Went to Active Orthopedics with a knee injury. After going over the MRI results with Dr Benke decided to have my knee scoped. He did a fantastic job. Six weeks later, I’m doing well. It’s a great feeling to have confidence in the physician you put trust in. I hope not to have any injuries in future, but if I do , I know where to go.

I liked the fact they have the urgent care feature. Dr. Silver was very nice. He explained everything to me during the examination and through the xrays. The staff was friendly as well. We have used Active Orthopedics before for my husband and we have always been pkeased.

I have been a patient of Dr John for a little over four years and have always found him to be kind and very professional. He is very conservative and not quick to rush into surgery. Finally at 4 years it was my time.I had total knee replacement with him two weeks ago and l must say l am pain free and doing well with my physical therapy.I would highly recommend Dr John for knee replacement.

Dr Giuffreda has been a Godsend to our family, being able to solve potentially debilitating issues involving fingers, hands, wrists and arms of both, my wife and myself in minimally invasive ways, possible, using most up to date ways to do so. She is a compassionate and professional caregiver. I would recommend her to anyone.

After months of careful research on looking for a surgeon in the tristate area.Doctor Thomas John was the one for me. I had a full hip replacement at 54 years old. He was extremely thorough and went through all my options. With the help of his assistants Connor and Jeri the communication was fluid. I am now on the road of recovery. I Went back for my follow up and the professionalism of the office and doctor John continues. I highly recommend him and his staff. Thank you doctor John and staff.
