Let me start this review off by saying we have been taking our dogs to this vet for over 15 years… our elderly dog has been ailing for over a year and treated closely by Dr. Korsgen. Sadly, our family dog crossed the rainbow bridge today. We called Emerson Animal Hospital at 10 AM, explained the situation, and we were met with absolutely no compassion. We were told that there was only ONE veterinarian in today, and she was only working until 12 PM, which not only does not make sense, but if that was truly the case, extremely unprofessional considering they are open until 7PM…As our dog was getting clearly sicker and sicker about an hour later, we called back desperately hoping for the office who has treated our dog for over 15 years to show some sort of compassion or human reaction to the situation, instead, we were met with a rude receptionist who told us we could pick up liquid medication for our dying family dog that they have treated her entire life. We stressed the importance of the situation and asked if there was a wellness visit that could be moved or cancelled as this was an emergency and they said in some many words, “not our problem, take her to a different place”Extremely disgusted by their behavior and will NEVER recommend this place and will NEVER be taking our pets back here. Stay far away!

Dr. Lofaro has been a godsend for so many, including us and our Hallie. Through the good and through her bad, he has provided knowledge, comfort, and assurance. Thank you for being the man and Doctor you are.

I brought my cat to this animal hospital several times this year for ongoing GI issues which persisted, finally brought her to a different vet and within 16 hours I had confirmation of both cancer and a 3rd degree heart murmur, I don't know what could excuse such ineptitude on their behalf that my cat suffered longer than she needed to

Outstanding veterinarians and wonderful care! I've been taking various pets of mine to Emerson Animal Hospital since 1998. Dr LoFaro is a very skilled, caring and experienced veterinarian. Anytime he performs a lab test, the office calls with results the next morning. He doesn't order any unnecessary tests or try to upsell a service or product. My pets are always treated like family. Highly recommend!!!!

Do not trust this vet. My family has been using them for years (I have my own 9 year old dog and see another vet in the area for years because of a bad experience ) and they continue to provide poor care and just try to charge you more. Back in April we took our dog in and was diagnosed with Cushings disease (noticed he was eating and drinking more) and started on medication. He then went every two weeks for follow up lab work and despite continually increasing his dosage his numbers went UP instead of down. Finally in Aug we got firm and asked for this inexperienced vet (you can figure out who) to consult with other more experienced vets in the practice. They then recommended ultra sound and other expensive tests and had a radiologist outside the practice review (again, VERY EXPENSIVE). They then couldn’t determine any issues (last week) and recommended we see an internist at Blue Pearl for a consult. She could not see ANYTHING on the ultrasound report because it was done incorrectly and stated that if we wanted a true diagnosis/recommendation we would have to do another ultrasound which would cost another $800 plus thr $255 consult fee we already incurred without even being able to the consult. After extensive convos with the nurses there we decided it was was best to put him down because now he was suffering and the situation (albeit they didn’t know exactly what but he was swollen like a balloon) wpasnt going to improve and would be aggrssive treatment that he shouldn’t have to go through - apparently he should have been taken off the Cushings meds IMMEDIATELY upon learning that after multiple increases his labs and health were STEADILY DECLINING. the only reason they took him off when they did was because we finally demanded he speakwith other vets at the practice even though hr recommended continuing with the increase and biweekly labwork (EXPENSIVE) and they said to stop and see an internist. Thank you for greatly expediting tue end of life for our beloved family member, costing us thousands, but most importantly for causing the short time we had with him to be miserable, painful and filled qith traumatic visits to your office (This is a WHOLE different issue because the first visit was horrible and after multiple failed attempts to draw blood they had to take him in the back and have all hands on deck because they couldn’t find the vein and after multiple stabs the dog started to freak - then every two weeks he would come home with both hind legs wrapped in gauze and bloody. I know for a fact this is NOT normal as I have a dog who DOES not get seen there in 9 years I’ve had her and has never once had an even remotely similar blood draw experience). Best part, I called the vet today (he passed yesterday) and told the front desk that our dog passed and we don’t need/want anymore follow up calls so please let the doctor know and she goes “ok” and hangs up- never asked who the dog was and my number is not the one listed on the account. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Let me begin with I've been going to this animal hospital for 10+ years and my last visit changed my perspective on this money-hungry veterinary office. I sent my son to go get our perfectly healthy three-year-old dog a rabies vaccine. I specifically told him to mention she only needed the rabies shot and nothing else. When he arrived at the hospital he specifically told the receptionist, and doctor that she only needed the shot. All went well and my son continued to pay for what he had believed was the cost of the shot. The front desk worker had just named a price and my son believed that was the cost without seeing any breakdown for the charge. My son gives me the receipt later on and I'm in shock at how much the shot was. I later go on to see that they had charged for an office visit which had cost more than the actual shot. I was in disbelief at how I was charged for something I didn't ask for and was never told about, as well as something that took two seconds to do. I decide to call the office and try and get a refund for the office visit. I was told I would not be getting a refund and that they don't have to tell people about extra charges. I'm still in disbelief and disappointed at how an animal hospital took advantage of a healthy dog and a young face. Just be aware next time you take your pet there and make sure you aren't being charged for anything you don't need!!

I was a longtime client here and I've referred many friends and family here because of how wonderful this office USED to be(even after moving almost 45 minutes away I still was willing to make the trip).Over a week ago I called looking for a simple nail trim appointment for my dog. When I called they let me know they had something available for 12 in the afternoon the following week I wrote it down while I was on the phone put it on my calendar. Should be that simple right? No. I arrived for my appointment to be told by a receptionist who looked and sounded like she couldn't care less that I had a 10:45am-that I missed my appointment and everyone was on lunch, the end.She never offered to rebook, NOPE didn't even try, basically said to us "oh well. We can't help you." and turned her head. So lazy, unprofessional, and unbelievably rude. I had to ask “why did no one call me and tell me I was late? Why did no one confirm at all?! Why was I told 12?!” No answer just couldn't be bothered.**In the year 2022 who doesn't text/email confirmations for appointments?!**Some of the vets here are wonderful, despite the horror stories I've read and heard (not returning emergency phone calls etc, not refilling regular meds, etc). Bottom line the office is dirty and dated in many ways (physically and technologically) and it's something I looked past for a long time because how nice the staff WAS. They have lost a loyal client today.Do yourself a favor and skip this place and the headaches.

More like ZERO stars DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOGS HERE!! I saw what goes on behind closed doors, and I promise you this is the last place you should bring your animals. Even to board them. I had to quit and go to another animal hospital because of how disgusting these drs and techs treat the animals. Im not sure why they are even in this career. (Deb is amazing she actually cares about the animals) Your dogs are taken out 3 times a day for TWO minutes. They have no interaction with anyone. Unless its for the 2 minute walk. On the weekends, its twice a day, 7am and 5pm thats it. No lights are left on at night, so they are left in the pitch black, from 7pm-7am. In the summer, no AC is left on over night. And in the winter no heat is left on over night. There was so many mornings I would come in to dogs panting, no water because they drank it all because of being so hot. Or come in in the morning to them shaking they were so cold. This place is like a prison for dogs. If your dog is barking too much. The girls will put a blanket over the cage so they stop barking at them. So then they are in a tiny cage in the complete dark. Covered. It's disgusting. If your dog is boarded upstairs, that is where surgery patients are prepped and sedated, so your poor baby's are watching animals get held down and sedated all day, must be scary for them to watch. If they are boarded downstairs, it is an actual prison. which is the basement, their cadges are right next to the xray machine. Many owners bring their animals blankets & beds from home, and the girls always tell the owners they will put it in the cage with them, but they NEVER do. owners bring blankets from home so their baby's are comfortable and the techs just don't care. If your animal gets sick WHILE boarding they just brush it off and don't say anything to the owners half of the time because "he/she was her for boarding not anything medical, if they notice they can make an appointment" It's heartbreaking seeing how careless these girls are when it comes to your baby's. Please don't bring your animals here.

My puppy loves it here! She always comes in happy/excited and comes out the same way. Dr. Korsgen has made every experience here great and we are so appreciativeEditing to emphasize how GRATEFUL we really are! We couldn’t have picked a better place to take care of Penny- having your pup injured is scary for your pup… let alone you. We always felt informed and in the right place. Thank you to everyone at EAH - can’t wait for her regular check ups

What a friendly and knowledgeable place. We purchased a voucher from Friends of Animals for our puppies spayed procedure. First time we ever went to Emerson. They took such wonderful care of our precious puppy Sadie. We dropped her off at 8 AM met with Dr Esposito he did an examination and we left. She was ready for pick up at 4:30PM. Everyone one at the front desk, the doctors and support staff were just fabulous. It’s great to know I have another Vet I can rely on. Thank you Emerson Animal Hosital ?

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE. What was supposed to be a set fee for the visit turned out to be triple when I was checking out. For this reason, I will never bring my pet here again. Scammer!!!!
