I took my mom to Jacobus Shoes for diabetic shoes with a doctor's prescription. We already had a bad experience with the rude owner a year ago, so I was very hesitant to take her back. However, I hoped that the service had improved.
Most of the clients at the shop are Korean seniors over 60. I'm sure many of them don't understand the detailed procedures for obtaining the prescriptions and medical files needed for the shoes. This was my mom's second time returning this week to the shop because of missing information, which were clearly the doctor's mistakes.
Instead of explaining the missing information kindly to my 80-year-old mother, I immediately noticed annoyance on the owner's face and in her voice. This made my mom extremely angry. It was the first time I had ever seen her angry in a public place.
Fortunately, the owner's daughter kindly explained the missing information, which improved our mood somewhat. However, we had a similar experience with the owner a year ago, feeling like we were being looked down upon. I have no intention of complaining about the store's strict regulations. That's understandable. But is it necessary to treat elderly customers with such annoyance in their voice and expression? It's natural that older people's abilities decline and they become stubborn sometimes. That's why you need to explain things to them more kindly. If you're going to get stressed out and annoyed over such trivial matters, you should only do business with young people with perfect logical sense. And it's really embarrassing to hear the ajumma speak Korean to older people in such a brusque and American-style tone. She almost sounded like an angry cop. The store has a wide variety of good shoes, but I will never come back again.
While visiting the United States, I went to Jacobus Shoes with a doctor's prescription to purchase shoes suitable for my mother's diabetic feet. I had a bad experience with the rude store owner a year ago, so I was reluctant to go back, but I decided to go again because I was wondering if the service had improved.
Most of the store's customers are elderly Koreans over the age of 60, so it's natural that many people don't understand the complicated process of obtaining prescriptions and medical files needed to receive shoes. Anyway, my mom visited the store twice in 7 days because of the missing information due to the doctor's mistake.
However, instead of kindly explaining the missing information to my 80-year-old mother, I could feel the irritation on the store owner's face and voice. This made my mother very angry, and it was the first time I had seen my mother so angry in a public place.
Fortunately, the owner very kindly explained the missing information to my daughter, which made us feel a little better. However, we had a similar experience with the store owner a year ago, and even then, we felt like she was looking down on us. I have no intention of complaining about the store's strict procedures. It's natural to do that, but is there a need to treat elderly people with such an irritated tone and expression? It is natural for older people to have less understanding and to develop stubbornness that they did not have before. The more you do that, the more kindly you have to explain it. If you're going to get stressed and irritated over such trivial things, you should only do business with Americans. And it's really uncomfortable to hear you speak Korean in such a succinct American style to older people. The store has a good variety of shoes, but I don't plan on coming to this store again.

I suffer from metatarsalgia and peripheral neuropathy on both feet. I need sas shoes. I received excellent service from the store owner who is very knowledgeable on sas shoes. Also, she gave me a discount without me asking for it. It turned out medium size was not wide enough for my feet after I took the shoes home and tried them on again. I kept the shoes nice and undamaged at all, then I took them back to the store and asked for an exchange for the wide size. The store owner gladly helped me with that. I would come back to shop in the future.

Terrible customer service, we just wanted to buy shoes for my mom who has problems with her feet and were told that SAS shoes were the perfect ones for her. This store has the shoes, but unfortunately for us, we met Grumpy and Grumpier, who made us feel so uncomfortable so we ended up leaving the place with no shoes ?

My mom got her prescription shoes there. Many Korean seniors got their prescription shoes here. So they know well about the prescription shoes. You need to get a prescription for your shoes from a doctor. Also you need to have an insurance too. You need to call and check whether you can get a free shoes covered by your insurance company. Good experience. In the first visit, call there and get information for getting shoes.
