Sofia in Englewood, NJ is a sleek Italian steakhouse with a basement cigar lounge, offering elevated plates and creative cocktails. It offers dry-aged USDA PRIME steak, seafood, house-made pasta, and authentic modern Italian dishes with local and seasonal ingredients. The two-story space features large windows, a garden room with a retractable roof, private backyard patio, and sidewalk seating. They offer all-day valet service and have one of NJ's few indoor smoking licenses for their ventilated cigar lounge. While the outdoor sidewalk dining experience was nice, we unfortunately found our food's seasoning pretty bland.I know, I know... who orders Chicken Milanese and a grilled shrimp Caesar Salad at steak house?? We were just in the mood for something different. Will be giving them another try on day soon. I will update accordingly if our experience is different.Metered street parking is also available.@vinopotato

Lobster was WAY overcooked. Table felt very unstable and we spilled a little of our drinks trying to get used to it. Drinks were very good though. Service was slow and inattentive except the one guy that filled the waters. Steak was just ok. Good texture but not much flavor, even with the extra salt provided. Multiple water cups were dirty. Overall just not a good experience.

Not impressed with the seafood tower even though there is a nice arrangement of seafood on display. Lobster, shrimp, and crab were either overcooked, or previously cooked and then frozen. Disappointing. Consistency, texture, and flavour not on point for a nearly $300 dish. (For 4)However I will say the chicken Parmesan was fantastic as well as the clams and oysters.

This is going to be one of those, if I could give zero stars I would reviews. Service was poor, sever was not happy to see us. It took forever to give a drink order and even longer to get them. Food and drinks ridiculously overpriced ($29 burger, $19 Cesar salad, $24 sandwiches, $26 insalata, $21 Pinot Grigio, $19 martini) We ordered different chicken sandwiches both each less than 5 inches long. My tiny $24 milenese sandwich was tasteless and dry as hell, fries were good though. They have valet parking because there is only street parking. Asked for change at the bar for the valet and was told that they couldn’t give change unless I ordered a drink-that was the only way the bartender could open the register. Got outside and our car was parked on the street. Never again.Parking: Paid street parking and valet. Valet parked our car in a metered spot. There was no parking available when we arrived.

I don't understand the recent reviews here. This place is amazing. The service was great and place is beautiful. We had the oysters, bacon and split a steak. Everything was awesome.

It seemed this place was the place to go but let me tell you the service is not good the atmosphere you are on top of each other. The tables are so close together as you have no space what so ever. Like sardines no thanks. And very loud you cannot enjoy a conversation at all

My Dad lives up the street from Sofia, so figured we'd venture in for lunch. The decor is modern and the space is bright & open. A very nice vibe. Our service was great. We both opted for the 3 course lunch ($42). For apps we chose sizzling bacon and French onion soup. Second course I had chicken milanese and my Dad chose the branzino which included a $12 upcharge. For desert, gelato & a cannoli. For a lunch with a $100 tab, it fell a little short of my expectations. I would have enjoyed the french onion soup and the chicken milanese with a tad more seasoning. The butcher shop & raw bar on the dinner menu looked appealing. I'd be willing to give it another try!
