Black Run Preserve is a large nature preserve offering a peaceful and serene environment for visitors. It features various well-maintained trails, including the nearly three-mile Blue route, which provides a mix of landscapes from water bodies to hard-pack trails. The trails are well marked with color-coded markers, although some visitors noted the need for more posted maps and "you are here" indicators. Benches are available throughout the area, with suggestions for more to accommodate disabled guests. The preserve is accessible from multiple parking areas and is popular among walkers, hikers, and cyclists. Guided tours are available with the Friends of Black Run Preserve, enhancing the experience for nature lovers looking to explore this beautiful area close to home.
We took the Blue route. Almost a straight line. The blue route is almost 3 miles one way. Marker just stops, we went a bit further to make sure no more blue marker and then just back track. There are two parking area. Nice walk/hike, saw some people/w dogs and cyclists, all were friendly.
