My wife and I went to a Columbia Bank branch today, Saturday, Jan 13, 2024 to open an IRA CD, but was told by the associate that the IRA department is closed on Saturdays and that we would have to make an appointment to open the IRA at a later date. This policy is ridiculous and unacceptable.Needless to say, we weren't too happy. We have opened IRA CDs in the past on Saturdays at Santander Bank, Northfield Bank, and Wells Fargo and have never had to make an appointment, just walk in and wait our turn, and the IRA department was open.I would encourage all of you to do your banking at another bank besides Columbia Bank.

Cannot even begin to tell you how much I hate this bank. They charge you an NSF fee, but don’t cover the overdraft. So the charge doesn’t go through and you STILL get hit with a fee. Not to mention that now you need to have a minimum balance of $1,000 in your account or they’ll charge you $20 a month. I’m literally paying these people to be poor. Disgusting business practices and am in the process of moving my money out of here.

This bank is deceitful.... they act like a good institute until you deposit your money and they find it difficult for you to make withdrawals of your own money by asking you what you need your own personal funds for and if you refuse to disclose your discreet life to them... the woman at the headquarters freezes your account ..... my family getting off that wack bank ... y’all don’t be deceived by their starting sweet talks

Ever get stranded coming home from work TWICE because your lovely bank keeps turning off your debit card with out warning!? WELL I HAVE!! WHY SHOULD ANYONE HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS!!? Im leaving this bank now!!! Im so angry! and both times this happened on a weekend before their customer service desk was open!! been having problems with this bank from day 1. I will WARN EVERYONE!! DONT USE THIS BANK UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET STRANDED WITHOUT MONEY EVEN IF YOU HAVE MONEY!!??

I have been with Columbia for my Personal & Business for last 25 years , but once it became a Public , Corporate company , they no longer have the service that i recieved !!!! I changed my Business to another Bank & Soon will be changing my personal accounts. I would not recomend Columbia Bank NJ . Typical Corporate type service and and excessive fees .Corporate Big Shots looking to maximize their already fat pockets .

This is the worst bank. I would really like to give it zero stars. My husband & and were long time customers of Atlantic Stewardship Bank (which we loved!) and sadly they sold to Columbia. Whenever I called ASB, Waldwick branch, I always spoke with a branch manager or someone who could help be. Now the branch manager is never there and while the staff tires t help they cannot.My most recent issue is with the online bill pay. Our mortgage payment via online bill pay was late this month and it was explained to me (unsatisfactorily) that in the conversion our payment was changed from electronic to a check mailed to a PO Box because Columbia does not have an electronic relationship with our s=mortgage servicer. The person I spoke with in Customer Service is blaming the Post Office.Bottom line, where ASB was a customer-centric bank, Columbia is not. Be aware, do not bank with them. I am moving my accounts elsewhere tomorrow!!

They take fees from customers during covid 19 and the managers are so afraid that they'll lose their jobs from the head dogs they won't reverse fees for you even if your accounts have always been in good standing. I'm moving my money out of this bank. I've seen enough of the bank employee abuse that trickles down to affect the customers because Columbia's only concern is their shareholders.

My wife and I closed on a home with Columbia Bank in 2019. We found the staff to be knowledgeable and supportive. Carlotta was our loan officer and she was fantastic! From her cordaliylty, to availability and responsiveness, and so much more. You can truly count on Carlotta and the Columbia team. Thank you.
