Worst haircut I ever got. Upon leaving the shop, I went to my car to put my glasses on so I could see my haircut and it was so bad that I went back in to have her fix it and it still came out terrible as she doesn’t know how to follow instructions from customers

I was a customer at the Fair Lawn NJ Great Clips salon since 2012. It is a very nice salon and in a convenient location. The prices are very affordable prices. I was happy with the hair cuts and perms. After the pandemic started, this salon stopped doing perms and some other services such as hair coloring. The only service it kept are haircuts. The cons. The manager Diane began to harass and victimize me about an issue. She started to make repeated, harassing, unwanted, embarrassing, mean spirited, rude, and disturbing comments to me. When I asked her not to make comments to me on this issue and not to bring it up again, she continued to force the comments on me. It happened again during my last visit there. She embarrassed me to her staff and the customers. I also did not like the comments she made to me on another matter. I have not been back to that location since August 2021. There was a high risk of embarrassment and the problem repeating since this was a pattern. That is a terrible way to treat a customer who did business with that salon for years. It is also very bad customer service. I did not want to be subjected to Diane's harassing, embarrassing, and unwanted comments again, so I went to another salon, which was near the Great Clips. The pattern repeated again with another stylist who was the owner's sister at the Vlad's Hair Studio. She used Diane's exact words and made the same kind of harassing, unwanted, disturbing and embarrassing comments. The unwanted comments had verbally escalated and was even more harassing and embarrassing. Diane would have been the one making the comments if I had not left Great Clips. If my suspicions were correct, Diane was using that stylist to talk to me for her. She had no business invading another salon so she could continue harassing me. Diane committed a breach and betrayed a customer's trust. She misused her position and information. Her only concern should have been the business and the customer service. It was a very negative experience. It caused me an inconvenience that I had to go to another salon because of the trouble that Diane gave me at her salon. The other salons are more expensive and most of the salons are not affordable. I was forced to change salons again after the trouble continued at the Vlad's Hair Studio. I even messaged Diane on Facebook and told her that I did not like her comments. No one ever reached back to me and apologized. When I complained to customer service, they referred the matter to the owner. The owner got back to them and said there would be no further follow-up on this matter. The Fairlawn, NJ Great Clips is independently owned. Corporate has no jurisdiction. I would have given a 5 star rating and remained a customer if those horrible incidences with Diane had not happened. Diane was always nice to me. She began to harass me and treat me badly. Diane did not even care nor apologized after I complained to her about her unwanted and harassing comments. I never had a problem with Diane and thought she was a nice person until this horror started to happen. Diane misused her position and information. I lost trust in her. The problem would have escalated and gotten worse if I had remained a customer. In reply to the response from customer service, that was the customer service address that I had emailed. They referred the matter to the owner, and he did not want to follow up on it. Customer service apologized and said there was nothing more that they could do.

Unfortunate to rate so low because it's very close and convenient but some of the stylists just won't listen to how you want it cut. Other stylists are good but it's really a dice role who is in/available.

If I could give this place zero stars I would . If you can’t cut a child’s hair please don’t do it . And to top it off they all are so rude . Horrible salon would never step back into here . My poor child had a horrible experience.

Pretty good haircut service. However, an employee there was rambling about slapping someone very loudly in front of customers. Incredibly unprofessional and concerning.

I had extremely thick, luscious hair as a long-haired man before this haircut, and the woman who cut it pulled my hair several times, brushing with as much physical force as she could possibly use. The only reason I did not scream in pain is because I am a trained boxer with intensive experience with getting bludgeoned to a bloody pulp. I now have very thin hair 2 days after my haircut. My fiance lightly ran her hands through my hair less than 10 times, and over 100 hairs came out. I would estimate 1000 came out today, my fiance saying someone did trauma to my hair. 3 days ago I would have less than 10 come out in an entire day.
Boxing matches were slightly less painful than this haircut. The pain from those wore off, but I have to be a bald guy for the rest of my life.

Terrible service, the hair stylers never listen when i tell them how to do my hair cut. I showed them a picture and they say yea yea okay and then they dont do it how the picture shows. My bang was supposed to be long passed my eye brows so i can do a sweep to the side and she cut it half and looks cricket now i got to wait like 3 months for it too grow back, she cut it so short nothing like how the picture was. Really upset that they dont pay attention to how i want my hair cut done. Each time i go they never pay attention to what i tell them

I allowed Maria to use that machine to trim my hair, however, she did not realize that she trimmed it so much that my back hair is almost gone and trim was so uneven. My friends are so mad that they wanted to come to the salon and smack her!...but I just told them to calm down. I do not want her to touch my hair next time. She did bad twice on my hair already...she was rushing to finish it.
