Popcorn Park Animal Refuge is a small and friendly sanctuary that provides a home for rescued animals, including lions, monkeys, llamas, turtles, and more. Located in Forked River, New Jersey, it offers a peaceful setting where visitors can enjoy a simple circular walk to see the animals. Many animals here have been mistreated or injured before their rescue, but they look well cared for and seem happy. The park is a good place for families with kids; children enjoy seeing the animals, especially the roaming peacocks, and some animals know their names. It is a quiet, low-cost destination that is somewhat stroller friendly, though a wagon is recommended because of rocky paths. Visitors appreciate the clean and well-maintained habitats. The staff are caring and dedicated, going above and beyond to help animals and even reuniting lost pets with their owners. Many visitors feel a strong connection to the animals and appreciate the meaningful work being done at the refuge. Overall, Popcorn Park Animal Refuge provides a heartwarming experience where visitors can learn about rescued animals and support their ongoing care and protection.
Great little zoo. Get to see animals close up unlike the bigger zoos where they're off in a distance sleeping. My kids love it here! Dominick the donkey is the best!

A small but fun animal filled park perfect for families looking to get out of the house and explore with their littles in low cost places. It was somewhat stroller friendly, but I recommend a wagon as it is rocky and unpaved. It was not crowded which was a plus. The kiddos loved the roaming peacocks!
