I have been a member for over 5 years and in May 2025 I was moving to a different town. I went inside the club to cancel my membership and the person scanned my bar code and told me I'm good & my account will be closed.
I recently discovered that I'm still getting charged a membership fee along with the yearly fee. I called my back to file a claim which caused a chargeback to the crunch account in the balance of $191.78. I've called the gym many times about this situation and asking them to remove these charges since my account was canceled. They are telling me my account was never closed and they can't help me. I also emailed a different email they provided to explain my situation but haven't received a reply in over 2 weeks.
During one of the calls last week, the employee advised me to download the app and cancel on the phone so that I don't get charged anymore. So I did this and now it looks like my account is pending cancelation in December so I got charged another $19.99. The managers Kyle and Matt at the Somerset location are unwilling to help me even though they've confirmed to me that my last check in was on May 3, 2025. These two are toolbags and read you a robot script instead of thinking like a human.
I have no reason to lie. I walked out of the gym on May 3rd believing that my account was closed. I assumed I did everything correctly on my end. My account should not have been charged for the months June to present day because I haven't used Crunch services. I am currently pursuing this in small claims court.

I’ve been a member of Crunch Fitness Somerset for over two years and was genuinely happy with the facility for most of that time. Unfortunately, the recent decisions by management have made the experience noticeably worse.
They turned the stretching room, a space used daily by many of us who prefer privacy to stretch, warm up, or do bodyweight exercises, into a personal training room. The frustrating part is that during the busiest hours (4–8 PM), that new PT room sits empty, while the rest of the gym is completely overcrowded. It feels like a poorly thought-out decision that took away a valuable space for regular members. Now if you want to stretch, there's a black strip in the middle of the gym where everyone is walking running and doing all sorts of activities because good luck finding a gym mat to work on. They are all over the place.
Another concern is the cleaning bottles. They’ve clearly been filled with water instead of disinfectant or any proper cleaning solution. In a gym environment, that’s unacceptable.
To be fair, the staff here are always friendly and helpful. But the gym has grown in membership without growing in space or equipment. During peak hours, good luck finding an open machine.
I’ve loved this gym for years, but unless these issues are addressed, I might have to look elsewhere for a better experience.

The staff has some nice people but omg besides that this gym is awful. Equipment is trash, weights everywhere, dirty as hell. If you go after 3pm it’s packed and you have to wait forever for equipment if you don’t find someone to work-in with. Decided to cancel my membership bc of those factors and the traffic is unbearable if you have a tight schedule. Upon cancelling I was being charged an extra $70 to pay an “annual-fee” even though I specifically signed up for the month-to-month no commitment membership and PAID EXTRA JUST SO I DONT GET HIT WITH FEES. Crunch Fitness is a scummy corporation, avoid it. I hate that such a kind staff is misrepresented so poorly by this garbage corporation.
