I used to use Family Dollar in Edison, on Woodbridge Avenue, and when I came to Franklin, and started using this Family Dollar store, on Hamilton, I was pleasantly surprised. I had been in it, a few times, 2 decades ago, but coming here, this time, I began to enjoy the full consumer purchasing "power", of what I consider, the best dollar store chain, in central Jersey. I don't come here, for produce, or meat, or fish, but for paper goods, detergents, brooms, mops, kitchen supplies, and "stuff" like that, it can't be beat! They have not only the best availability, of what I'm looking for, but usually also, the best prices, too. I don't buy candy, anywhere, but for Palmolive Oxy dishwashing detergent, or Scott paper towels, or straw brooms, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else! And, although I can buy Kleenex, in other stores, they always seem to have some available here (which bigger places like ShopRite, are often sold out, of--especially during the pandemic, then the following inflation). So, I'm overall happy with this place, especially since it is only 0.8 miles, from where I'm currently renting a small room, in a large house (with access to most of the rest of this large house, and huge yard, and barbecue grill, and woods next door, etc.), and so I can (and often have, including today) walk there, & back, with no problem (regular good exercise, for this old "geezer"...ha ha ha ha!) Which reminds me, I learned online, recently, that walking is the best "weight-bearing" exercise, for building "bone strength", and so I've been doing it, a lot, lately--and was able to walk a total of 8.4 miles, on Memorial Day, 3 days ago, and about 2.0 to 2.5 miles, today. And that isn't too bad for someone who fell down on his bicycle, 8 months ago, and shattered his left hip (and had to have 3 screws put in his left hip, at the hospital, then spend the next few months at home, first on a walker, then on crutches, recovering), now is it? Perhaps you enjoy the convenience of using a car (which I can't afford to own, right now, in this very expensive area, between NY and Philly), but, walking 3 or 4 times a week, is much better, for my health, than when I used a car, to go everywhere--and it is beginning to show! Sayonara!
