I hate to leave a bad review, but I feel like I need to share my experience with others.
I gave them two stars instead of 1, because everyone at the salon is really nice, I enjoy their pedicure and the salon is very clean.
Now the reason they got 2 stars instead of 5 is because of their gel manicure. I went in for a gel manicure before one of my vacations and it only lasted 5 days before beginning to chip. I thought okay, maybe this is a flute because a gel manicure usually lasts at least two weeks.
I gave them another shot because I really liked the salon and 2.5 weeks later I went in for another gel manicure before my next trip. This time I got a French gel manicure. I was EXTREMELY disappointed when my nails severely chipped TWO DAYS after getting them done. There’s no reason for them to chip so badly and quickly. I was so excited to have cute nails for my trip, but ended up having chipped nails that all broke because of exposure. They looked awful for the whole trip and I couldn’t believe I paid $60 ( $55 for gel French and $5 for shaping) for them to chip TWO DAYS later!!
Since I was overseas, I couldn’t call to let them know or go back to have them fix it. I had reached out to them via Instagram and Facebook as well, hoping we could discuss and I got a response back stating that they received my message, but no actual response to my message. I’m extremely disappointed in my latest two experiences.

$135 for a hard gel manicure with added length on a few fingers and a simple design on only 4 fingers. They are nice but the price is just not justifiable in comparison to other salons in the area.

Don't come here for Gel-X, they clearly don't know how to do them correctly. It's day three and 2 nails have randomly popped off. Wasted money smh

Absolutely love my acrylic gel manicure! I used OPI Love is in the Bare and it’s the perfect shade. Highly recommend this location, it’s very clean and the staff are friendly!

I want to thank the amazing staff at Luxi for the wonderful experience I had. A few weeks prior I had contracted a nasty toe nail infection from a neighboring salon and was completely traumatized. I explained to staff at Luxi about the trauma I went through prior they were patient, gentle and understanding and gave my feet the proper care that they needed they have gained a new satisfied customer.

Jackie was fantastic with the gel polish mani pedi today, thank you so much! She cared about what she was doing, took time to shape my nails right, made sure the polish wasn’t gloppy. Great service, thorough, and didn’t keep me “in the chair” too long. Also, I was able to make an appointment online the night before, plenty of availability even though the salon is busy - super convenient. Thank you again!

Please be aware of this location!!! I booked for Somerset nails and spa location, thinking that I was at the right location and instead of the owner telling me that I did not have an appointment with them he still allowed me to pick a nail color and go to a chair and then when I confronted him before paying about him not telling me that I wasn’t at the right location for my nail appointment. He lied stating that he did tell me but how when he was on the phone when I was checking in and I said to him if you did tell me why you didn’t tell me again after I picked the nail color before I went to go sit in the chair that you told me to sit at. luckily, Somerset nails and spa were nice enough to credit me the money that they charge me on my card and also stated that this owner always does this and that please be careful when you’re booking because he would not tell you you are at the wrong location until it’s time for you to pay or if you already half way through service being done on you he will try to make you pay before leaving. This location don’t everrrrr have to worry about me coming back. Please go to Somerset nails and spa they are wayyyyyy more Professional than this location.
UPDATE: Thanks for letting me know that your salon is recording my audio which is illegal without my consent! If there was audio footage, why didn’t he let me hear it? Clearly, you didn’t hear him either because he never said I didn’t have an appointment. Secondly, your staff should’ve verified who I was and what appointment I had reserved! You need to change your website format when you click on book online on google or salon name because either you type in Somerset or Luxi both of your establishments show up and both of you are on Elizabeth ave. And do not act like one point of time both establishments were Luxi nails with different picture is down below. Even after my appointment, I went to the correct location and that receptionist told me that you guys continuously service the wrong customers and don’t say anything until it’s time for them to pay! The guy who was working in the front today told me that you guys had issues in the past with people going to the wrong location because the two salons share the same logo & name. If you want to bring up footage, explain how it’s acceptable to turn away customers and her kids because the children were upset and loud? Why would it matter in your empty salon? The way you talk to your customers shows throughout your salon! Keep up with this nasty attitude and you’ll be out of business a lot sooner than your chances of me ever returning to your establishment! Delete this if you want to but it will be reposted!
