Rude!!!! For example: a 10 year old, brand new rider, previously had a bad experience with a horse they told her to ride and wouldn’t let her ride another one.

I’ve learned so much the past two years since starting lessons with Jess! I can’t thank her enough for helping me build my confidence in the saddle and take on bigger challenges after years off from riding.

First let me say this is the most reasonable stables for trail riding in the area! That gets a 5 star! The workers are all very nice and helpful and that's 5 star too! However you are wondering why 3 stars? My husband and I are intermediate riders and are used to certain rules. These include but are not limited to: helmets, trail leaders (bosses) take the lead, horses know exactly where to step and whom to follow, weight limits, etc. While not wearing a helmet was refreshing as a seasoned rider, usually there are helmets available and required (absolutely needed for a newbie). Maybe Covid is why but I don't think so. The trail boss was young and didn't have much control over the animals. My husband's horse was beautiful and we found out he may be a foundational horse, however he liked running people into the trees. My husband is a strapping 6'7" and despite tugging him to stop, he kept it up! The reins are really short and that seemed to be a problem for both horses. Only my saddle had a horn to hold on to. That would definitely be an issue for a new rider!I would suggest longer reins when trail riding and the shorter when teaching or pony riding. We really enjoyed our ride even if it was only in a large circle, again and again. Still great for the money and experienced riders but not nubes.

I can not say enough good things about this place! Whether you are looking for a place to learn how to ride, get out and have some fun, sharpen riding skills, or if you are looking for help with your horse - this is the place! The horses here are very sweet and take good care of their rider. Jess (owner, trainer, instructor) is extremely patient and goes out of her way to give each person the individualized attention they need. I am a better rider, archer and horse owner since we decided to start coming to S&J!

What a great place to enjoy the outdoors and learn some new skills. I was drawn to SJ Stables after reading about some of the work they do with Veterans and figured why not try to learn archery from horseback, even if it ended up being just a one time experience. After my lesson last night with the owner, Jess, I can't wait to get back and try it again. She is a friendly, easy going and patient instructor, the horse (Rio) was awesome, and the atmosphere was just beautiful! Definitely an experience I would highly recommend!

We are pretty happy with the horse riding class for an hour.Private class was very satisfactoryI would highly recommend to anyone to visit and take the classThis was a surprise to my husband on his birthday and he never spent a minute in his life with horses. So he was hesitating and was in dilemma for a while but later he was convinced to give it a try..By end of the class he said he actually want to visit this stable and learn more....So please try to spend sometime...
