I highly recommend The Village Timekeeper! After being told by two other shops that there were no options, my clock was completely repaired. I even questioned that the price was too low since it did not reflect the base pendulum adjustment, two new batteries or the several minute phone conversation on battery changing and suggestions on how to maintain the longevity of the clock. I expressed that I was more than happy to compensate him for his time, but Paul refused. He knew that this was a sentimental piece and that I would have paid anything to fully restore it, but this is clearly a trustworthy establishment with an exceptionally skilled technician. Thank you so much!!

One of the nicest guys I've come across. Great work reasonable rates. Beautiful clocks available also.

Paul was so nice and very easy to deal with. He explained the work he did on my grandfather's clock thoroughly. I highly recommend this company for their expertise. 5 Stars across the board!

If you want to get lied to and yelled at and having your clock worked on in a place that looks like a dump, by all means go to the Village Timekeeper. However, if you want to have work done by a honest and reputable person do yourself a favor and take it to a different shop (there are others and better in the area) Would have given a zero (0) or less if possible.

Had a problem with a clock, of course, and Village Timekeeper was able to fix it. I also had a cuckoo clock from a very long time again. I was able to look at it and give an estimate to fix it. Was very friendly and knowledgeable and honest with me. If I had any clock issues or clocks to repair, I would recommend The Village Timekeeper.

Scenario 1: The Village Timekeeper had my clock for over five months, multiple calls, and emails, with no response. When trying to pick it up out of frustration, was treated rudely, and argumentative. Trying to avoid an further escalation I cooled down and was told "I do not keep a clock longer than I have to"....figure give the proprietor another chance. Another three weeks goes by....contacted, and told he was unable to fix it...would take an additional two to three months, costclose to $785!!! ....or you can take it home....which I did.Scenario 2: Took it to a more reputable repair shop - Andrews Clocks in Hillsdale. Repairman had it for two days and figured out the problem!!Explained the issue and was in constant communication. The shop kept it an extra week to ensure it was working, andrunning properly. The cost was half the price !!If you want to take your clock to a place where it will reside in a haphazard shop in disarray, and where will have no communication whatsoever, until the rude owner is ready to reach out to you, then the Village Timekeeper is the place to go!Otherwise avoid The Village Timekeeper at all costs!!!!!

Omg this store is the best when it comes to delicate wall clocks from home and its owner (I think) who treated us super kind and the best thing is that our Howard miller repaired us and it was like new oh and another thing its price is adequate. I have no words to describe this site as number one. thank you very much

worst ever. Had my clock for 9 months and never repaired. I had to pick it up and take to another repair shop. Was told by emails all most done never touched. Never answers phone or returns calls. Then was mad at me for calling to check on repairs I have the emails for nine months and was told in 2 weeks should be done. Do not use this repair shop unless you want to wait over a year and then it is never repaired.

Believe the other one star reviews. This is a guy who should not own a business. He has no idea what customer service is. He may be a good clock repairman (jury is still out on that) but he has zero communication skills. He had my clock for almost a year, didn't return numerous calls to inquire when my clock would be ready. When I went to his shop he was rude and arrogant, not apologetic at all. He actually had the audacity to say " If I called everyone back who had questions about their clock I would never get any work done". Here is an idea, HIRE SOMEONE to handle customer service, because you suck at it. I had to get the police involved to finally retrieve my clock. This was by far the worst business experience I have ever had. Shame on me for not believing that a business owner could be as bad as the one star reviews this guy got. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Brought my circa 1900 antique music box to Paul in May. Although he had good intentions on repairing it, I finally decided to retrieve it the following February without the mechanism having being repaired. He was apologetic about the delay and did not charge me, but, unfortunately, when I returned home I noticed the cover was cracked with a staple repair, plus the wooden base is cracked. He is well meaning and surely knowledgeable about clocks but overwhelmed with work and no staff to assist.

A couple years ago Paul restored my wife's antique mantle clock. He did a full mechanical restoration as well as cleaned up the case as best as possible, (extremely old and brittle finish, clock is from the late 1800's) Clock runs perfectly now and it's a centerpiece in our front room. Would use Paul again for clock repairs.

In response to your google comment--it appears you take no responsibility? Too busy to inform customers of work progress--I initiated all calls--no calls from you until several calls to you? Cash payment why not check or credit card?....On your work estimate why did you advise me the work will be completed in 4-6 weeks (not 7+ months to actual completion)--you had the clock for week+ to determine what was wrong with the clock? Nonetheless, we do agree I need another clock repair person.I have had several clocks repaired for over 20 years. I brought a cuckoo clock in for repair. It took about 7+ months to get it back. Paul (owner) said it would take 4-6 weeks for completion. Every time I called Paul (after 6 weeks) it was being tested (on the bench) he needed two more weeks,(last call he needed to order a part from Germany--new reason?) etc., etc. His call backs were slow and the last time I called he was rude and unprofessional. After several months (from the 4-6 weeks original estimate) I asked for the clock back and his reply was you need to pay me first and in cash! This clock in my collection is one of sentimental value (repair cost not worth clock value). I needed to deal with him until I got my clock back--overall, he repaired the major part of the clock and some unexpected adjustments I needed to do--did not want to bring back clock! to him). I do not mind if you are straight with me and he should have apologize for his rudeness and kept me updated (consistent reasons) during the process. I will never use him again.

Long delay waiting for a repair. The owner never picked up the phone or returned voicemail messages. I tried to pick up my clock several times during business hours and found the shop was closed (e.g., home visits, vacation). Finally picked up my clock and found a reputable dealer. Linda M
