Great place for walk in appointments you may have to wait a bit if they are busy but all the doctors are great and address whatever problems you are having. Thank you Family Care!!

For the last year , I have been trying to get a hold of billing department or someone to resolve my bill. My insurance said that they cover for Covid and the I still get a bill for a Covid test. Per my insurance , the coding on their side see it as a test not a Covid test. Please have this resolved. One of Front desk is with attitude. I explain to them I meet my deductible and out of pocket max.Great doctors! Especially Dr Chafos ! I have been seeing him for almost 25 years

I went to family care in June when I was ill and needed to get some testing for Covid or Flu. I was brought back and thought the Dr. was very thorough but a nurse brought in a waiver form for me to sign. The waiver said that IF my insurance did not cover a test I would be financially responsible. I signed because that is fair. However, it basically gave their billing dept an excuse to bill it incorrectly so that my insurance won't cover it. I've been disputing the bill and calling my insurance since July. My insurance has made NINE separate attempts to call them at their billing # listed on the bill and 9 times nobody has returned their calls or messages. I have called 3 separate times, left messages, to no response at all. Literally all they have to do is change 1 code in the computer and my insurance will cover it. It's not a lot of money, but it's irritating that they're impossible to reach and basically are billing this way knowing that in all likelihood the test would be covered.

Came here with my mother on a Sunday afternoon, she had pain in her back and general weakness. We were told by a snotty receptionist it was extremely busy. 5 minutes into the wait my mother had a massive heart attack. No sense of urgency what so ever from the staff. When I stood up and shouted “I need some help here” the front just kind of looked at me. My mother started rolling her head back and audibly gasping for breath groaning. “Is she having trouble breathing?” A female doctor who looked way too far into her career to be asking that question. A lot of running around from staff with no visible sense of direction or plan of action. I understand how fast my mother was crashing and there wasn’t anything anyone could do. But for a son to witness his own mothers final breath to look over and hear the doctor say in the most casual way “oh my goodness” because his own staff couldn’t locate a wheelchair I quickly realized she didn’t stand a chance. After about 10 minutes they finally get her to the back where they proceeded to start CPR while she was in a wheelchair. Squad came transported her to Somerville where she was pronounced dead. I understand I’m just a grieving son. But I witnessed my mom gasp for her last breath with a room full of people that quite honestly appeared to be inconvenienced a woman walked into their facility and had a heart attack. Again no urgency whatsoever.

John chafos md is a joke. He is not someone to work for or with. Little to no integrity. Worked a month with no pay . Wrongfully terminated. told me to get my check after his work day at 3 . Came and waited patiently in waiting room at 2:45 he had officers escort me and my mother outside to wait in the cold and told me the check would be ready at 4 . As a employer he sucks . The practice is understaffed and unorganized and inadequately trained .he gives rat scammer vibes.

I needed care for a persistent cough and shortness of breath. My primary care physician couldn’t see me right away so I chose to come to family care. I was met immediately with unfriendly and rude staff as well as significant wait times for someone experiencing breathing issues. I was seen by a nice but rushed nurse and told to wait for the doctor. There was no cell reception in the patient room and after 30 minutes of not having access to my phone, I asked if I could have the wifi password or wait in the front waiting room so that I could answer emails from work during my wait. They acted like I was insane for asking. Finally after another 20 minutes, I got a chest xray and the technician mumbled everything he said and got annoyed when I didn’t understand. In the end, the only thing he wanted to prescribe me was a medication I was already taking and I told them was not helping. All this to say, I would’ve been better off at medemerge which will be where I go next time (long waits as well but at least the staff is kind and competent there)

A majority of the staff is great and have served me very well over many years. Though a recent interaction really scummed the place for me and I won’t be returning. You should look for a provider that when calling in regards to a previous visit with a doctor… that they consult the doctor. It was quite a baffling experience to be shut down so recklessly within 25 seconds of a phone call. Especially considering pre-existing conditions were noted and an issue with my prescriptions. My issue is if you don’t have my chart up and you’re not a doctor; you don’t make decisions for anyone.. if you’re not a doctor. This is a problem that I’m pretty baffled even occurred and I can’t imagine the liability issue if the complaint I had called about turned into reality and I became worse off because of it.I’d go down the road to the urgent care if I were you and be much happier. Which I did, and wouldn’t you know it my concern was listened to and deemed appropriate.

Very disorganized. Just need a simple refill for BP and just had blood work done but they never get back to you and say they’re so busy. Meanwhile it’s empty. So you have to make an unnecessary healthy visit, take up 2 hours of your time and wear a mask cause they have to have their co pay. Complete waste

I went here multiple times and the last visit made me want to write a review and I certainly never write reviews unless they leave an everlasting impression on me. I came home from vacation Monday morning and while the drive home was miserable, I knew I had to come to family care the only place that I would trust. I was hunched over in pain and my husband with me..I went to sign in and they saw the pain and that I was on the verge on hurling...they immediately put me in a room while my husband filled out the papers (I don't know who was at the front that day but THANK YOU!) as I was in the room many nurses came in but one I remember specifically who took care of me like a mother would..her name Carole. She was so compassionate, so caring, and had a gentle voice. I could tell she really did care about what she was doing and she made it extremely comfortable for me there. I could go into detail but that would be a very long review! I just pray that carole sees this and sorry I am late at posting this review as it was about a month ago I visited. I thank you so much for your loving care and really making me feel better as well. I truly appreciate you, and if I ever have to go back *pray I don't have to* I would hope you are there! God bless you and the people who made it comfortable for me there. appreciate all the work you are all doing!

I always ask for Dr. Ligot, he's alway very professional and attentive.I also don't like the wait (as some reviews mentioned) but I realize other patients are getting the same attention I would want for myself.

They are so slow. You sit in your room waiting to be seen while the nurses sit in the middle just talking and talking. The doctors sometimes get involved in the conversations rather then telling the nurses to see patients.

I went to this office for xrays after a car rolled over my knee & thigh. Xray tech Ruba was excellent, as was phlebotomist Tatiana. They are the only reason I am giving one star & not zero. The rest of my treatment was botched. I was not seen by an actual doctor during my first visit. (I found out later that she was a physician’s assistant & clearly in over her head.) All I was given was 5 days of corticosteroids, an antibiotic, & burn cream, plus crutches & an ill-fitting knee brace, & sent for an ultrasound. From the description of the accident, I should have been sent for an MRI on my knee. As I now know, care received during the first 10 days after a car accident is covered by auto insurance PIP without precertification. I went back 2 days later for follow up as directed, but left after sitting in an exam room for an hour without being seen. I finally got a prescription for an MRI after I asked the doctor for one on my follow up visit on Day 7, but NO ONE told me that I did not need a precertification & I could have gotten an MRI the next day. Instead, I waited to hear back from FC about the approval (which I never did). After 2.5 weeks, I finally gave up & went to an ortho office. Because it was well beyond the 10 day window, I have been struggling with the insurance company for over a month still trying to get an MRI & physical therapy. So if you have a hangnail, pink eye, or an ear infection, Family Care might be fine, but I don’t recommend going there for anything more complicated.
