Absentee owner. Managers sporadically available to deal with member concerns. When concerns are brought to them you're only given excuses not results.Corporate doesn't hold owners accountable. This is an issue. Owners can do or not do whatever they want and corporate only cares about selling more franchises.Equipment fairly maintained except saunas. In the last 5 weeks 3 times I haven't been able to use a service I've paid for because it wasn't turned on or heat level maintained. Who wants to wait an hour or two to use a sauna?I've been given a bunch of excuses but it really hasn't been consistent or corrected. If you pay for a services you expect the service to be available or compensated because it wasn't. Nope, nothing. Not even acknowledged.Go elsewhere.Tone def response as usual. Look for the little things. They tell you more than you expect.

Place has good staff, but is usually pretty crowded and you may have to wait for some of the machinesEdit: I dont know how to reply to retro for their feedback request, so I added a reply here.I don't think the folks here could do anything about waiting for machines without more real estate. I notice this mostly when doing leg exercises like leg curls, leg presses, abductors, and leg extensions. Having another row of these somewhere would help a lot.

Justin and Dom are always nice and friendly, they also do a good job keeping the gym clean and are helpful whenever I want to buy a shake/drink/keeping the toilet paper stocked

I have called numerous times and sent an email requesting information on corporate headquarters HERO program, and never received any reply. I’m guessing Mt Olive retro fitness doesn’t appreciate the sacrifices made by our first responders and veterans

I agree with some of the comments on here about being rude (Not my first experience with people being rude). I called a week ago and asked if my son could come with me and was told no there are certain ages (my son is 12). I go to cancel my membership at retro the girl Sarah asked me why I was canceling and I explained she said our rules have changed and I told her it was the week before I called about my son (all he wanted was to do treadmill) and then she canceled my membership and for the last few weeks we have it she wrote son can come with in the notes. So why once I cancel my son can come with me but when I’m paying he can’t? I wrote back to her asking and she ignored my question and told me it was in the process of being canceled. Very upsetting, rude, and unprofessional. I really don’t appreciate Sarah not answering me as to why and how the rules changed. If someone with professionalism could call me and explain that would be great.

Love this gym. Can be busy, but there's a reason for it. This gym is so clean. I especially love yoga classes on Sunday with Chrissy. Getting the nicer membership was way worth it to use the sauna, massage chairs, and take any class I want whenever I want. I wish it could be open 24 hours somehow!

I went today and quite frankly this was the best Retro I’ve ever been too. I’ve worked out at a few different locations West New York, Secaucus both no longer exist, Rego Park(Queens), Wallington, Kenilworth and now this location. The use of space, the cleanliness, and the way the machines are set up just a great gym. Definitely would recommend for anyone who lives in the area or is close enough to make this gym their gym.

Canceled my account due to none payment and was rude on the phone when offering to pay the existing debt as Sarah hung up the phone on me. It hurts cause I love Sarah she was cool but my financial hardship did not matter to her neither listen to my concerns upon wanting to pay. The gym is excellent but Staff can be moody at times without understanding and connecting truly with the customers battles

Best Retro I’ve ever gone to, it's clean and staff is always very friendly. Lexus is the best trainer I’ve ever worked with, great work ethic, always willing to work with my schedule, and definitely is the highlight of many peoples day. I can easily say that I look forward to her bootcamp classes, were she brings an abundance of energy especially for it being 6am!

I don’t understand why it’s not possible to request a free day pass for the Mt Olive retro fitness online. You can do it for the rockaway gym, the kenvil gym, pretty much all the other retros in that radius of north jersey. Don’t get why mt olive is different. Seems like it starts with the owner and manager. Pretty greedy to withhold the chance for someone to workout for free for just one singular day.

The staff has always been very kind, and greets me every time I walk through the door. However, due to a minor misunderstanding, I was signed up for a membership that I was told would be cheaper for me, but was not. This was okay, as I am sure the staff member didn’t intend to do so and was just misinformed. However, trying to contact the manager to resolve the issue took nearly two weeks with at least three emails that were not responded to, as well as several phone call attempts to reach her. Once I was finally refunded and asked to come in to set up a new membership, I explained that I was not in town (which was the reason I couldn’t come in to resolve the issue in the first place). Sarah, the manager, sent me a very passive aggressive email and accused me of misrepresenting the situation, which I did not appreciate especially since I have been kind and patient with her unresponsiveness. Looking back at her first response email, she was not professional enough to proofread her email either. I usually do not write reviews, but I feel that this situation truly tested my patience, and my kindness was met with aggression and lack of professionalism. Though I wish I did not have to come to this Retro in particular due to this experience, I will still attend due to their clean facilities and remaining kind staff members.

The gym is very clean and the staff is very welcoming. I always look forward to coming in and working out. My basketball team came in for a training session with Chris and we had a great workout. I love Retro Fitness!

Best gym I've ever been to!! The staff and equipment are top notch Personal trainers are spot on they walk their talk. 5 star rating isn't high enough in my opinion They are definitely a 10!
